McCall at 59 about to set the record for highest age of a former boxing champion to compete in a sanctioned pro bout.

Man, poor Mike Tyson. He just set that record himself four days ago; now it's already being smashed by his former sparring partner.

 

Round 1

Frazier is leaning away from McCall, stretching out backhanded jab off the hip, then fluttering it a bit with a few snaps of his wrist. McCall pressuring slowly, walks into a couple of right hands. McCall crossing his arms to intercept punches but a few getting through and landing on his throat. McCall unable to get close so far. Frazier popping jabs into the guard of McCall moving backwards. Body jab by Frazier. McCall carrying a lot of extra weight around his midsection. McCall eats a couple more rights and just muscles his way in on Frazier by the ropes. Right hand chopped down by McCall and DOWN GOES FRAZIER.

15 seconds left in the round. McCall rolls forward and churns out some more shots but can't reach.

10-8 McCall, that was about to be a 10-9 Frazier round too.

 

Commentators are so dumb.

"Unlike what we saw on Friday, these are full three minute rounds. So in four rounds they're going to do more boxing than Mike and Jake did in eight rounds.

Wait, no, that isn't right. I should've done more math classes."

 

Round 2

Frazier is backpedaling, tossing desperate stay-away jabs and clobbering down with windmill rights to hold McCall at bay. Frazier steamrolled into the ropes and put down again. Frazier wildly swinging and knocks himself off balance, spilling backwards into the ropes, ruled correctly a slip. McCall is now jabbing his way in, showing surprising quickness for a soon-to-be sexagenarian. McCall multiplying his jab on the way in, ramrodding Frazier in the side of his temple with it to push him into the ropes, then clubbing down on him with right hands as Frazier shells up and sits on them. Frazier down and waved off.

KO2!!!

 

Honestly? I'd watch Tyson vs. McCall in a heartbeat.

 

The Atomic Bull says that breaking Iron Mike's record makes a nice bookend to him being the first to ever drop the youngest heavyweight champion in history (McCall knocked a then undefeated Tyson down in sparring).

He is calling out the Paul brothers and says he wants to knock them both out to get revenge for Nate Robinson and Tyson.
