    Folks,

    Fantasy dream fight time....

    "McCall-Shavers" in a 10 rounder in a 20 X 20 squared ring with 10 oz. Everlast gloves... 3 knockdown rule in effect...

This fights pits 30 year old Ollie McCall at 235 pounds of solid muscle against 31 year old Earnie Shavers of all 213 pounds of solid muscle in a 10 rd. bout...

Neither fighter is the most skilled heavyweight of all-time, but, both own right hand power that could KO a rhino... McCall owns a beard of stone, where as Shavers has questions regarding his jaw...

Who is the better man once the smoke has cleared?

Some folks claim that Shavers is the hardest hitting fighter to never win the title, but I feel ex-WBC champ McCall has right hand power on par with Shavers with ease.... We all know Shavers can pop like a mule kicks, and so does McCall too....

Think I have to go with Ollie here. Ernesto hit more than hard enough, But Ollie had the chin and stamina to weather the storm early on, while possessing enough of a punch to finish off Ernesto later on.

Another Shavers thread? Jesus Chris this forum has been completely flood with Shavers vs so and so thread the last month. God damn, and every ALWAYS picks against Shavers, so why does he keep getting threads made about him.

    I don't know that's just my opinion.

McCall's a horrible matchup for Shavers....he's got a diamond chin, conditioning, and more than enough skill and power to get the job done himself.

The Atomic Bull cracks The Acorn.

I'm not sure, but a younger / prime-time McCall was like 233 to 237 pounds, and looked naturally trained.... Nowadays he is more so ripped and looks juiced.......

Shavers was buffed, yet in a natural way......

I too think McCall at 235 is stronger and tuffer than a 213 pound Shaverman....

Man, this is tough. Just cause Oliver's never been ko'd, doesn't mean Shavers couldn't do it. But I think this may have Shavers-Lyle qualities, where Earnie gets outlasted by a durable guy. I'd love to see this fight.

As for all the Earnie threads, let's face up to it: Earnie is a beloved fighter. People are fascinated with him. I personally love him...the power, the bald head, the wild swinging.
And he should've been champ. So don't knock the Acorn.

McCall, cause any good fighters Shavers fought beat him, and McCall could survive a tough moment better

Interesting one,MR.Bill. :good McCall's chin being as hard as Earnie's right hand ! McCall outlasts the inevitable early storm from Shavers, and stops the Acorn late in the contest. Ernesto's best hope is Oliver crumbling mentally a la Lennox Lewis 2.

Like Bill put it right , it doesn't leave much of a choice :
Shavers hit hard , but was not noteworthy durable , McCall hit as hard , but was noteworthy durable .
So while Shavers didn't had enough to crack McCall , McCall had enough to crack Shavers , and if Ron Stander (no disrespect) Randall Cobb , Jerry Quarry and Ron Lyle had enough to do it , an actual champion sure as hell had.
