Disappointed with Lynes though, I've been saying it the past few fights now.... time for him to give it up I think.

I've been watching Ajose's fights for the last few years and, while occasionally he looks good, last night he looked dreadful. Wide shots, looping hooks, poor positioning, lack of a jab...

it was not a good performance, despite Lynes completely folding. Ajose carries that slick hand position, but where are the straight shots that would normally come from that stance?

He needs to work on using his jab, delivering his straight left and shortening up his hooks. I'd pick Khan to beat him.

 

Yes for all Ajose sleek skills and speed he comes to fight. He was a bit wild early on due to the unfortunate inactivity but got better as it went along. Lynes I found to be same as usual. Once he is threatened he goes into a shell and fight like a crab. However determined that he would not survive wanted to a better job on him than Junior Witter did and shut up the detractors. Even Johnny Nelson who you would think would know better on Skuky was predicting a Lynes win. Delusion or what.

 

Unlike last night the Lynes that Witter fought was at least breathing...you can't possibly compare performances that are nearly five years apart, if you are then I am afraid you are delusional

 

He can fight better that is for sure. However I would bet all my houses that he would knock out Khan. Ajose hjas very impressive punch variety but you need to know that this was scheduled at late notice and he had been out for 9 months unfortunately when The Ionut fight was cancelled. His trainer was unable to come from Nigeria. The key thing was to beat Lynes decisively and stop him. You will see a better technical performance against the likes of Ionut, Maidana, Alexander and Bradley all of whom I rate very highly.

 

I'm not sure why ring rust saw him abandon solid fundamentals. That makes no sense. Lynes isn't a difficult puzzle to solve.

 

Don't make excuses for Lynes. The reason I dislike him intensely is that he pulled out of schedule contests with Ajose in the past. People forget that when Ajose stopped Ali Nuumbembee it should have been Lynes in there. He would have been stopped then as he was stopped yesterday.

 

I understand where you are coming from certainly as regards a technical perspective but I think ultimately such tactics were right to force a stoppage of Lynes who if you allow him to will frustrate to survive like he did to Witter. I was particularly happy that the body shot stopped the contest akin to Hopkins versus ODLH.

Ajose looked even more godly than before.

 

Prior to the fight people were talking of Lynes resurgence how he was robbed in Italy and that he beat Branco, was unlucky on Prizefighter and all the crap. Even Johnny Nelson was predicting a Lynes win, BN thinking it would be a tough fight and Ajose might win on points, quoting Michael Lomax saying how Lynes would stop Ajose late etc. Now you claim he was a corpse. If he is a corpse it because Ajose made him one. I came to support Charles Adamu as a fellow Africa but took my hat off to one one the best young British fighters I have seen for a long time Groves who was brillant. No excuses..
