man you must be drunk or disilusioned, you think it's a conspiracy that morrison pulled out? haha as mentioned in a previous post, those wild windmill rights leave him open, and if you think that wo'nt be his downfall at world level then you have another thing coming. and the board will decide who he fights for the british, by declaring a mandatory, and that will not be ricky hatton or junior witter.
Did'nt look to bad really, but witter mate, is a level above imo.Your man dont bang hard enough to trouble anyone above domestic level.I actually thought wright was gonna pull something out at the end.
Bearing in mind Wright isn't as good as Morrison you have little reason to moan. Lynes would be the next test for him, but for being ripped off against Branco he may still be EBU champion and wouldn't have imploded against McCloskey.
He's a strange one is Ajose.Part of him looks a class act, especially when he shortens his combinations and stays more compact. Then he'll suddenly lunge in,chin in the air and throw wild whinging roundhouse blows that invariably miss and leaves himself exposed.I agree with some other posters,at the higher level he will get countered straight down the middle. He's obviously talented,he's hungry and awkward, he'll pose a problem for anyone, but i think at the top level he may fall short, plus i think there's a distinct lack of power there.
Beeston I am not sure that Bazza is better than Wright. Wright is technical southpaw whilst Bazza is a more aggressive orthodox type. The thing is that Wright can fight scared and look to survive whereas Bazza is more aggressive which means Bazza puts himself more in the line/range of fire therefore he could be stopped potentially easier. I am not saying he will just that he provides the opportunity. Lynes will never fight Ajose and frankly I am no longer interested in him. Lynes I don't consider a test for anyone. He pulled out of several fights with us in the past so why give the miserable beggar a payday now. I like the idea of Ajose versus McCloskey for the combined Commonwealth, Britis and European title fight. Also the fact Lynes lost to Branco at this stage of Branco's career says a lot about Lynes if you ask. He was not robbed rather he bottled it again because that is what he is about a lack of bottle. Wright and Bazza don't lack bottle that is why I like them.
Ron baby how are you doing. Thanks for the compliments. As you know I disagree about falling short at the highest level but we are approaching the moment when this will be answered definitively. Ajose is a spiteful puncher even Wright admitted that he is the strongest guy and hardest puncher he has been in there with. I remember Gary Reid telling me Ajose was the best he had ever been in with after their fight and he was the 1st person to knockout Ali Nuumbembee and Scott Haywood.
Lynes bottled it? He went to the other guy's backyard, decked him and won the fight easily! He has also taken Junior Witter the distance and probably should have won but couldn't pull it out of the hat late in the fight.
Yes I saw his fight against Witter and it proved my point. He did not come to win rather he came to survive not that Julia Witter was much better frankly. Beeston I like chatting about boxing with you but do we really need to discuss Lynes who frankly in my opinion is a waste of space. He really is. He should have taken it against Branco but I saw bottle and let a shot Branco back in to take it away. He also quit again McCloskey & Daws and pulled out of scheduled contests with Ajose. I love all fighters but I have had to make an exception as far as Madam Cynthia Lynes is concerned. As you can appreciate being a Yorkshire man(I was in boarding school in Yorkshire by the way) I prefer to call a spade a spade.
Olu...I never said Wright should throw an uppercut. I never said Wright could or should have done anything, because it was obvious from day one he wasn't a challenge and is the sort of opponent you should be well past. Sooner or later your man is going to have to step it up, as you so boldly proclaim he will, and IF he loses you are going to have regrets. Not because he lost, but because you took so ****ing long to do itand have potentially wasted a few of his better years. Whos fault it is I'm not sure, perhaps he really is avoided, but its the truth for a guy that fights like him.
Last night I was at the olmypia to watch Carl Frampton make his pro debut. Absolutely brilliant performance-Sky dropped the bell not recording it because I have no doubts he will be British champion at the very least. However that aside, there was around 40 Nigel Wright fans and approx 60-70 locals plus the Sky team and the fighters it was shocking. The matches were awful with the Sky team reguarly laughing at Micheal Pass's attempts to say the opponents names. For me those matches were a waste of time for the fighters and the spectators. Apart from adding a plus 1 to the win column its impossible to gauge what was achieved. The locals were leaving before the final bell of the Ajose fight and only the Wright fans and a handful of boxing geeks, like me, stayed. Ajose boxed very well and I think he has a great future. Olu is right he will be a champion I have no doubts. Its the little things that make him so good and he completely shut Wright out apart from in the last. He'd beat Witter based on what I saw last night. The woman who shouted abuse at Olu as he left ringside was a big, fat disgrace. Olu you need to sit tight, not get annoyed by the non-believers and just take it in your stride. Ajose is unbeaten and it will take an exceptional fighter to beat him. Just because Ajose doesn't KO Nigel Wright, Reid ect doesn't mean anything. Calzaghe failed to stop Thornberry and Starie- he remained unbeaten and is now seen by many as an ATG. Keep winning Ajose and Olu- let the talking be done in the ring and stop insulting UK fighters. It won't get you anywhere. All the best,
Thanks for your warm words and encouragement Jeff. I don't want to insult anyone but sometimes it gets a bit to much when Colin Lynes is brought but I take your point and will adhere accordingly because you are right.
