Just a thought I had, obviously Olympic gold boxers are a certain level of pedigree and nothing new to the professional ranks but has there ever been say a Olympic basketball player or swimmer to go onto become a pro boxer?
For many years it was claimed, that Paul Berlenbach won gold at the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp as a wrestler - which was false (he didn't even participate in the games). Olympic weightlifting champion Paul Anderson had a short, unsuccessful (2-2) boxing career.
Olympic wrestling medalist Danny Hodge went 7-2 as a Heavyweight pro, losing his final fight to Nino Valdez in eight in 1959.
Eddie Eagan won gold in boxing at the 1920 Olympics and then won gold in bobsled at the 1932 Olympics.
