Have you watched Matvey Korobov yet? If not I suggest you do, there may be some footage on youtube. I believe he is fighting against 2004 Gold Medalist Bakhtiyar Artayav soon aswell.

Brazilian middleweight boxer, Blanco, was very impressive. Also his fight demonstrated how shitty Olympic officiating is once again. Blanco was about to knockout his opponent, and the referee hesitated in giving the 8 count. His opponent knocks him down and hurts him as Blanco yields for the ref. Gets an 8 count himself. Ridiculous. At least he showed a chin.

And holllly ****, finally, an exciting, tight, olympic fight. Middleweights, Ireland vs. Algeria

Knockout by the Irishman, Sutherland. Great job.

Hey man can you give me a rundown on what happened in Artayev vs Korobov? They don't show Olympic boxing in Australia.

Sutherland is always exciting, him versus Darren O'Neil(an fighter who's probably top 15-20 in the World at the weight) for the Irish title was the best amateur bout I've ever seen.

He's turning pro after these games and tbh he'll be much better suited to it.

GREAT GREAT FIGHT ! Finally they give away a lots of points !

But still bad judging..., I mean, the dude clearly dominate at some point and he was like only 1 or 2 point ahead most of the fight !

Sutherland's problem in the amateur game is that he has an essentially pro style. Amongst other things this means that sometimes he doesn't get the points even though, if the fight was being scored in the way that pros are he would easily win the round.

His next fight is against Blanco, so that should be a real tear up. Two guys with very aggressive styles and real power.
