Buatsi is a beast, has a great style for when he turns pro. Fantastic knockout out of the 3rd seed.

Pat McCormack boxed brilliantly there beating a good kazakh kid.

    Tough tough fight next though.

Good win for McCormack. Kelly lost to a very good boxer and will come again.

A good day for gb boxing....looks like we may have our next emerging talent in buatsi!!

McCormack did excellent that kid he was in with even though he was just 19 he was seen as a real threat to take a medal. He's been given a terrible draw so far though has McCormack.

Kelly did as well as he could he's 21/22 year old kid in against the world number 1 and in the first round especially he had his moments like someone else said he will come again kelly.

Lol awful fight. How did that Cape Verde guy make the Olympics? Did he even train for it? Joyce didn't look great. Didn't use his jab well and was windmilling a bit. A lot of wasted energy.

1st round KO for Joyce but my god has he got terrible technique...can see him maybe getting a medal though he seems fit and comes forward throwing alot.

Does anyone know what age he started boxing seems old to be getting to his first major comp?

Plus his technique makes him look like he's only been at it a few years lol

sick KO there by the Nigerian. I think Joyce will struggle against the Uzbek because he has a ramrod jab on him. Quick hands.

Totally agree, I was shocked tbh. Looking at Twitter Dave Allen tweeted that the biggest beating he received in sparring out of any fighter was Joyce. Makes me think he might be all power. He was so open and just didn't jab. Contrast that with the methodical approach from the Uzbek.

The Uzbek is Jalolov. The young 22 year old quickly coming into his own. Jalorov is 6'8" tall, yet he moves and boxes well, and he might be the best puncher left in the tournament.

I think he beat Joyce, maybe knocks him out.
