I have seen boxing from the olympics now and must say that it´s worse than ever. The boxers generally have so many flaws in their teqnique, that I wonder how in hell they could come to the games.
Is it just me or what do you think?

Well we haven't seen any of the good boxers yet, there's a seeding system so all the elite guys got the first round off.
Every boxer in the world amateur or pro has flaws in their game (apart from Lomachenko) so maybe you should be quiet.

Most of them are only 18 or 19. 5-6 years in boxing training will get you that level of skill. Most of them look good for their age especially team USA. Team USA has the best group from what I have seen. Our kids are really looking good.
Also that kid from Lithuania who fought like Tyson was real good.
But they are only Amateurs man! You never know how they will be in 2 or 3 years time.

I'm hearing a lot of people say that about the USA team... the thing is they're not fighting the decent fighters in their divisions yet since none of them are considered elite, they weren't seeded.. we'll have to wait and see.
None of the really good amateur fighters have actually fought yet.

No need, I can tell you now that you'd get absolutely annihilated.

The key problem they are likely to have is that they are pretty much all kids for whom the Olympics is just a step towards a pro career, but they are going to come up against a bunch of much more experienced fighters for whom amateur boxing is their career. Any American who medals is probably a huge talent (or alternatively that rarest of beasts, an American with a genuine amateur style).

Jones Jr. Vs. Park Si-Hun was the beginning of the end for Olympic boxing as far as credibility goes.

Been in the game for over 20 years ,so I´m no key warrior :).
The standard in the olympics felt better earlier years.
Perhaps the better boxers will come, but I don´t see any Leonards, Jones or that type of quality yet. Not even de la Hoya or Amir Khan either.
Team USA seems to be better yet, but so far nothing that has impressed me what so ever.
Ordinary standard amateurs. Will be fun to see what the girls can do, they usually have better teqnique

Next year they are getting rid of the head guards and the rounds will be scored on a 10 point must system. This can only help.

I also think the 3x3 rather than the 4x2 rounds this year is a step in the right direction.
