Yes, I'm being serious. USA won most of the medals because most of the strongest boxing nations were boycotting.

I went to the boxing on Saturday night, managed to jump over some seats and hang out with Team USA. All of them were pretty cool and managed to chat with Jose Diaz Jr for 20 mins. The kid has the cuban world no.1 and current world champion next so going to be very tough to get through. Marcus Browne thought I worked with a promotional company and was trying to sign him so wouldn't say much to me!

¿ What about Mario Kindelan ( the Cuban who beat Khan in Athens ) ? , he also have 2 golds at two different weight divitions ( and defeated Felix Trinidad TWICE in the process ) also ( 2000 & 2004 ) besides Lomachenko has only ONE gold at the moment not 2 , wait till he wins the other one . Peace .

I see an olympics which was boycotted by almost every world champion. The reason the 84 olympics had a lot of medalists go on to be successful in the pros was because they were from a country where they can turn pro. there were some good winners like pernell, meldrick taylor, mark breland etc holyfield was there too, but not all of these would have won medals in other olympics, 84 was without
Soviet Union (so includes places like Ukraine)
    Bulgaria
    East Germany
    Czechoslovakia
    Hungary
    Poland
    Cuba
    Romania

These are countries that win most of the medals in every other olympics. You seem to be rating an olympic's strength based on how many medals were won by the usa, and don't seem to be able to accept a non-usa champion could be as good as a champion from the usa.

Don't get me wrong , I like Lomachenko a lot but Rigo had a much better amateur career than him , Rigo's been a star in amateur circles since he was a child , he won EVERYTHING there was to be won in the ams in all levels and his fights there were legendary , always KOing people with lots of kds , very entertaining
Lomachenko is an exelent boxer who's had an exellent amateur career with a
great future in the pros but IMO he can't top Rigondeaux one , still he's very good a WILL WIN another gold in London , of that I'm sure . Peace .
