I was at the Excel tonight so didn't hear any commentary. Thought the Mongolian dominated Stalker in the first round and won it by 4-5 points. Stalker had his head rocked back several times throughout the round, and imo was very luck to by level at that stage. The 2nd was much more closely fought, Stalker landing more clean, and no longer leaving himself as open to those big shots, but I thought the Mongolian edged it by 1. Then Stalker came back big in the 3rd, he was clearly winning the round and looked to be taking the fight (considering the judges only has him 1 down), but then got reckless in the last 30 seconds or so and caught with so good clean shots again. I felt Stalker still won the round by 1-2 points, but for me the Mongolian's performance in the 1st round was more than enough to give him the fight.
As far as I can remember, only Joshua got a gift decision in his fight and Ogogo was lucky in being given the decision against that world number 1 dude he fought. Apart from that, I honestly don't think any of the british boxers got robberies going their way . There are some close contests which could have gone either way, which they got the decision on. People just wanna cry robbery for every little thing, because they either have an agenda, or just love being controversial. Ogogo vs Hartel was close. Evans 1/4 final bout was close. And stalker last night were close. None of those were robberies. They were all close fights! There were major robberies and shocks throughout the tournament though. But i don't think its right to say that the Brits profited from multiple robberies!
That french guy the other night had the worst bit of judging so far, he won easily against the Ukrainian lad but got robbed blind, wonder did they try to appeal that one
theres nout you can do about the judges it seems but if the ref has a shocker then you have a chance, i dont think benchabla was unlucky but the ref having two points away with two seconds on the clock was ridiculous. its still in teh balance according to the official website but i cant see it being overturned. french lad was the worst robbery of the tournament agreed.
