i fancy Joshua to beat Savon. Our best bet in the mens without doubt is Nevin, hes capable of beating anyone on his day, although he has got a tough draw and campbell will be hard to beat on home soil.
Perhaps off-topic, but which of the Olympians do you fancy to make it in the pro's? Joshua's the big hope, but is that anything more than wishful thinking based on his size? Or is it pointless making any judgements based on amateur form.... unless it's an obvious RJJnr, SRL, PBF or Ali.
I can't be doing with olympic boxing. It can be horrible to watch and with the system the way it is, the result is such a lottery. I've had enough of screaming 'why didn't they score that shot'. It seems so far removed from what it should be. You do occassionally get the odd special talent who can transcend the flaws of the system, like Andre Ward. But pretty much one style is encouraged, and that style overwhelmingly doesn't go on to be a success in the pro ranks.
this is the guy anthony joshua is fighting [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDwXEEXOM8M[/ame] heavy KO puncher. scary thing is, he is very technical and is a big puncher. not the fastest guy though. joshua will have to use his straight punches although i dont know what the size difference will be.
Yoka is 6'6 same height as Joshua, Savon is 6'5 although both are noticably thinner than Joshua but with their styles and power the strength is a non factor. Joshua doesnt fight inside.
^^^ This How can you not be excited by the best boxers in the world & potential pro superstars in every weight class taking each other on over a week on national tv in the greatest sporting event this country has ever witnessed :happy:happy
Indeed. I don't normally pay much attention to amateur boxing but this is the Olympics for Clough's sake!!! Anybody else going on Tuesday evening?
Was gonna back begin for gold but betting has been suspended as the boxing has started. He'll prob win now..
