I dont get this **** at all. In watching thee fights seems like these scores are so off. how exactly do they score these fights? I remember thinking the same thing watching cotto back in the day and this just reinforces it. **** is a joke to me.

Because it's scored by three judges scoring a punch within a one second window of each other, and they're being insanely strict about what they're scoring for.

This is the Nth time a thread was opened regarding the bull**** olympic scoring.

It goes this way . . . . they have 5 judges. 4 on each side of the ring . . . and one a little far behind. They use a button to score a punch. Out of the 5 judges 3 has to press to make the point appear on the board.

Most of the time only two judges see the actual punch because the other two will always be on the other side of the action. And the judges has to press the button for a punch in a restricted period of time . . . so when successive punches were thrown and connect . . . only the first punch normally gets acknowledged.

    Bull**** results ! :deal

No, psychopath, one isn't a little bit behind. One side of the ring has 2 judges on it.

i mean ultimately **** is gonna be up in the air. it just seems to me that the whole point of the sweet science is being sacrificed if clean shots arent rewarded

The problem isn't with the scoring system, it's with the incompetent officials.

I think the problem here is the judges and what they're looking for. At the world championships last year in Chicago the scoring was much better; they were doing a much better job counting shots than this.

the way they look for it is that at least the entire weight of the shoulder has to be behind the punch for it to score. in other words u have to snap ur opponents head back quite nicely....yeh i do think its bull**** scoring system however because when there is a combination that lands usually only the first punch or most distinct punch is scored......its bull****.
