btw that american 'Andrade' or whatever his name. that fought the georgian guy the other day got beat by that georgian...that was bull****.
This system sucks, doesn't matter how competent officials are. It defeats the purpose of having multiple judges with different views.
Thanks for the correction . . . I noticed one table far behind . . . I thought that for one of the judges.
I know . . . but not unless some powerful countries with big voices in the Olympic comittee moved for it's improvement . . . then we all have to live by it. :-(
Well, boxing's all over for us now this Olympics. Losing, I wouldnt have minded too much, but it was frustrating to see that when our guy wanted to rally back, try to be more aggressive and pound the other guy with 2-3 combos to the body, but still, no score. Made my blood pressure rise earlier. Damn.
you have to agree that plange won most of the points faily and also had a body attack going on. but still it was closer and far more pointscoring fight than it seemed.
Demetrius Andrade, Raynell Williams; and with the draw he has Deontay Wilder could maybe win a Silver at least.
I've never agreed with or understood the criteria for scoring blows in olympic boxing. Body shots never count which is incredibly rediculous when a large portion of the professional fighters base their offense around body shots. Sometimes I really wonder who should be in control of the olympic boxing, period. I often shake my head as to how these judges come up with scoring blows and what in particular they are watching during the fights.
