They don't even televise the boxing in America anymore, unless an American is fighting.

a ton of amateurs turning pro with nobody televising fights. It'll just be a bunch more Dychko situations.

The NFL will be flag within a decade. Qbs will have flags before 2030.

Wrestling was never a major sport to begin with.

I didn’t confine my comment to the Olympics. I do think that’s a notable loss, but it’s also the exit of Showtime from boxing as well as the continuing loss of market share to UFC.

There’s still interest in big fights, but you have to have televised fights to set up the big fights. I don’t think it’s all over by any means, but the sport is fairly wobbly these days.

You can't have the Olympics without boxing and wrestling. Those are the original sports.

Well when the top competition all avoid each other only looking for a payday while only fighting once a year, what is there to expect? The sport is dying off because of this nonsense. Canelo is largely the only reason why it hasn't died off yet as he's the only one at the top willing to fight 3-4 times a year against solid competition, but once he does leave that'll kill off a lot more interest.

Speaking of interest, thats why people would rather see the Paul brothers fight whoever because they know how to generate interesting matchups. No serious boxing can cares, but the casuals sure do and thats where the money is coming from. Another big issue is the HW division. Historically thats always been the division that defined boxing by far and the one most people, fan or casual, are familiar with. Nowadays, no one knows who any heavyweight is and I'm gonna guess its because none of the mare interesting fights or spectacular in the personality department. Usyk is as good as it gets and he's as stale as the bread they give you at Dennys compared to what we had in the 70's, 80's and 90's.

With such issues, its no wonder the sport is dying off.

Who isn't televising fights? Did all the top amateurs in the Olympics fight on Showtime and someone didn't tell me?

If the top boxers were leaving the sport of boxing to become MMA fighters, I might agree.

    But the opposite is true.
