The previous encounters between Heiland and Veron (as well as the battles waged twice by Heiland and once by Veron against mutual opponent Billi Facundo Godoy) have all been close and exciting. :bbb

Four down, halfway into this one - more of the same. :good

    Round 5

Heiland backs Veron into the corner, slipping his left jab and letting a few scuff his right temple. Right throwaway jab by Heiland, baiting Veron into firing his orthodox 1-2 while backing up and running out of room. BIG overhand left counter by Heiland, landing sight unseen on the jaw of Veron, crashing down from above. Veron down hard in the corner. Veron gets up and tries fighting off the ropes but Heiland is atop him with blinding right jabs and debilitating left uppercuts on the body. The ref steps in!

    TKO5!!

With that, El Gaucho de Pigüé (the Cowboy) puts an exclamation mark on claiming the series with his arch-rival, formerly knotted at 1-1-1. Every previous meeting had not only gone the distance but ended via split or majority decision.

Some doors may now open for the young southpaw, currently the WBC #6 contender, having clearly punctuated the rivalry and put it to bed and now riding a streak of three impressive KO victories over domestic opposition.

Everyone from 1-5 represents a big payday opportunity for Heiland, and not that far-fetched.

#5 Martinez could see him as flawed enough (with his loss and draw to journeyman Veron, and losses to Godoy and Sebastian Zbik and most damningly, Nilson Tapia) to make a suitable and 'safe' opponent for a farewell bout at home that would sell well enough in their home country. Given his lack of mobility, however, Martinez could bite off more than he can still chew anymore with his slower but fresher and hard-fighting and hardworking fellow southpaw. :think

#4 Billy Joe Saunders, assuming he defends his Euro title successfully against Chris Eubank Jr., might also find Heiland to be a favorable stylistic match-up and worth the perceived minimal risk to add his scalp to his resume.

#3 Curtis Stevens, #2, David Lemieux and #1 Martin Murray could all have knockdown-trading FOTY candidates with Heiland.

Not sure if you saw it before but Srisaket (former WBC champion at 115) looked very poor earlier today v_v (results not on boxrec but I can share it if you want).

    Round 1

Narvaez puts his right foot in past Orucuta's left and ducks his jab. Narvaez is lifting his guard, inner arms millimeters from his face, held narrowly together straight up with fists at forehead and elbows at pecs. Light right jabs by Narvaez. Lead right by Orucuta, caught on the glove as Narvaez bounces in reverse. Narvaez is darting in low, ducking and sloping his right arm over the business end of his mullet-hawk, catching Orucuta's jabs and 1-2s across its backside and landing his right jab when his short quick steps bring him in close.

    10-9 Narvaez
