I have only seen Chavez's early fights smashing up overmatched competition. He is facing Luciano Cuello next. I would recomend you watch his fight against JCC jr on youtube as its a very good fight and shows his skills (as well as Jr's limitations). What do you think of this matchup?

Shows a confidence in Omar that for his 25 fight he is facing someone that Jr faced in his 40th fight. Like I say could be competitive- Cuello seems to march straight forward but has the skills to make it rough. I might try and see his fight against Saul Alvarez see how that turned out.

Guy who was robbed against Omar in the first fight, and died from injuries in the rematch.

    Yeah R.I.P indeed thats awful.

Was Juarez better than his record suggests or did he make it hard because of Chavez's inexperience etc? I've only seen Omar fight when younger

Wiki says Marco Antonio Nazareth died 4 days after a fight with Omar Chavez as well. Are you sure your not getting confused with him or has it happened multiple times?

My mistake, I just knew it was a guy Omar rematched.

I never liked Omar, he just gets gift after gift after gift against club fighters just because of who his father is.

I expect Cuello to beat him up rather badly in this fight. It wont be competitive at all.

nope will later if its available.

I seen the Jr. fight and he made a good showing of himself there. Also Omar is too small against welterweights let alone against a C level light middleweight.

Whats your opinion of Omar's fights?

I've only seen a couple of his earlier scraps. Today I'm going to try and watch his last few, hopefully youtube has them. What I've seen he has his similarities to Jr, constant pressure and a withering body attack. Its all academic until he takes on a major test and Cuello is seemingly a step in the right direction.
