This could well be a cracking fight. We've got two unbeaten fighters who can punch.

Figueroa is a awkward looking pressure fighter, He often marches forward and looks clumsy but there's method to his madness as he drops hard punches downstairs and up. He switches stances working well enough in both but tends to square up and takes shots but gives them back.

Figueroa is relentless, brave and just doesn't stop throwing. He throws a large amount of punches. He's open to counters but dips his head well at times. What i really like is when he gets inside at times he clinches but works with the free hand. He chips away at you constantly and his body shots with the free hand look hurtful. Very subtle work but effective..

One of his best punches is his right hand where he drops to left side to slip punch and lands it hard down the pipe. His left hook is mighty damn fine as well!. Check it out here...

He beat Michael Perez who i rated highly. Broke him down in a trench battle. He's got something about him the guy.

Abner Cotto is slightly more fundamental in his approach operating as a box fighter. He can stand at range and sling it out or he can walk forward and throw. He's a tad clumsy in his movements but he picks some nice punches (uppercut is nice). Throws with intent from body punches to head shots he puts them together albeit not the quickest. Decent inside skills but can be caught standing tall.

There's not the greatest amount of footage around on him. His fight with Rodriguez he looks really sloppy. But there's some decent ability there and with this fight having so much on the line and the mentality's as they are we may see a battle at the Alamodome.

It's got two unbeaten fighters, a chance to move up WBC rankings by winning Silver title and guys who can punch and aren't scared to mix it.

For me i lean to Figueroa although he will have to be aware of the right uppercut from Cotto which is a nice shot really is. I think the awkwardness of Figueroa's advances and the hard shots to head and body will back up Cotto and Figueroa will get up in his grill and force Cotto to fight for 3 minutes.

Cotto's not one to turn it down and will rally back but often falls out of position badly and could well get countered with a big shot.

Keep a eye out for it on Canelo-Trout undercard :good.

Good fight this tough to call as you say, Cotto could well end up trying to trade which could be his downfall. His defence looks a little open at times and he can be a bit upright, he looks much better when he fights at range imo.

Yeah Cotto seems the sort of guy who fire fights and don't think he will handle Figueroa's constant onslaughts.

Figueroa will out war him in the later rounds, wont be pretty but will be brutal which is sometimes a good mix up.
