Ok , call me naive or ****ing stupid...
I'm still gonna post this here because it is intriguing (concidering the source)...

    Two posts caught my attention....

1rst of all... Fedor gets paid $10 million , but NOT for several fights!..
We're talking about 10 MILLION for a single fight!!...(that's a record in mma i think).

    2nd of all...

    "
Fedor Emelianenko... somehow still ranked #1 HW MMA fighter in the world, has accepted a $10 million dollar deal with the Russian fledgling MMA company M-1. No opponent has been picked as of yet.

    1. Could this be a ploy to draw Randy to an M-1 contract, following his recent retirement from the UFC?

    2. Rumor has it "the 10 mill fight" against the unknown opponent will be sponsored by Dreamstage entertainment (former owners of Pride) and take place in Japan under possibly K-1 heroes rules and sanctioning.

    3. WTF? 10 mill? I for one don't see Fedor pulling the fans in required to support such a large purse, there's simply no one outside the UFC (except the newly retired Randy) to support him being paid this kind of money... if he doesn't fight Randy in this fight, M-1 will end up like Pride before it ever gets off the ground.

    4. They also said on the report that Mark Cuban was also fronting much of the money for the contract/fight against "someone?"

    What are your thoughts guys?

I hope it happens (with Randy) but I also have many "pipe dreams"

LOTS OF INFORMATION ABOUT this comming from Alberta.

Fedor is going to be in Calgary,Alberta, on the 19th.
And just goes to show that Randy isn't retired like he said, just resigned and left the UFC.

Any ideas? Could this mean we could actually still see a Fedor vs Randy is or it all just wishful thinking?

Not yet anyway. Even though Randy has quit the UFC (no, he's not retired, yet) he is still legally bound by his UFC contract for 9 more months.
So he may fight Fedor then.

As to the billionaire buisiness man who's bought M1?
I have a crazy gut feeling that it might be Vince Mcmahon. He said he was interested in MMA and he is a billionaire.
Ethier that or its Mark Cuban which would be the safer choice to make, but I'm sticking to my crazy prediction.

If mma fighters are starting to get this kinda money...the % increase in less than a year is gonna be huge /phenomenal...

I mean there's mma fighters who are gtting paid like..$2000...
    what an enormous gap...

Do you think ufc will have to match M1's budget for their top fighters ?
or is emelianenko "the" exception ?

Everything is possible now...A multi billionaire is behind this one.
M1 may have nobody right now , but that type of money will attract more and more fighters like flies on ****...

And apparently dreamstage entertainment is also still operating with these guys. (planning to sponsor a fighter...maybe barnett ?)

I think Emelianenko is the exception.
Even though MMA is big and is growing its still not big enough to warrant paying any fighter $10million dollars.

Although, I guess it depends how rich this business man actually is.

Yea, Fedor is gona be exception for now.

Dana White is not gona allow Couture fight before 9 months under different organization. Not gona happen.

That's what i'm saying..From NBA to MMA...the guy just happens to now be interested in this sport...Dunno if fedor is the exception but when a guy like that is involved in mma..anything can happen and there could be some major changes...Not saying that they'll all get paid that kinda money but...maybe +$1 million or 3 or 5mill could be the norm in a year or 2...maybe not in the ufc though.

No possible way Fedor gets paid 10 mil for a fight. I don't care if it's in the contract or not. Fedor's popularity doesn't warrant that.

Never under-estimate Japan.. If Randy Couture and Fedor get it on over there, 10 mil will be an easy pay day so long as it will be televised in the U.S. as well. You know damned well a true mma fan would pay for it.. You know damned well this would be the biggest mma fight to take place in a very long time.

I'm really surprised at how confident everyone is in Couture beating Fedor.. I'm a huge fan of his, but recognize his chances against Fedor are very slim.

I haven't read what you've written simply because White says Couture is under contract so if he fights it has to be for the UFC. I really can't imagine White letting Couture fight anyone without his fingers in that pie!
