he could fight an eliminator at 160 or 168. he brings a name and some
money to a young hungry fighter. Kessler was REALLY looking for a name, and i made a post last week about the sense a wright/ kessler fight would make. Besides, winky's date w/ HBO wasn't until Jan, so that would make wright kessler very possible.

Lance, anything but this guy. I mean, pull his record on boxrec

It's easy to say what fights SHOULD happen, but putting them together is another thing. Besides, Kessler just fought. He wouldn't be ready in December, and right now, it's better for Winky to get in the ring. But I fully expect him to fight again rather quickly after this. It's just a stay (or get) busy fight.

Check the bold print Lance. Winky turned down $2.4 million and a cut of the PPV revenue to fight Pavlik this fall. That was part of the story behind the Hopkins fight. Half a dozen people made noise about fighting Pavlik, but ultimately turned away from the oportunity.

On the other hand, I don't think him fighting this tomato can is that big of a deal. I hope he gets a good win over the guy, and follows up with a win over a top 10 guy at 160. That puts him right back in the mix, and in line for a title fight. Pavlik hates Winky. A highly motivated, pissed off Kelly Pavlik against Winky in good shape; sounds like a damn good fight to me!

I think he is gunning for a fight with pavlik or AA next year on HBO or he will give it away.

The guy has millions and very rich man, he doesn't need to fight.

If he doesn't get motivated the way he did before, he mite just walk away.

    Isn't that obvioius?

If you fight 10 times a year the occasional bum is ok. If you only fight twice a year, it is obviously not.

Stuff like that happened all the times before the 90's. Not a big deal.

    Unless he loses.
