The Galveston Giant vs The Manassa Mauler What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?
I thought there was a big difference in height but Johnson is the same height as dempsey! Dempsey by ko
Johnson was great but would his style work against a busy man who was arguably quicker? Hard to say really. I reckon I'm going with Dempsey here.
There is a reason why Jack Dempsey only fought one black man, and John Lester Johnson wasn't even anywhere near close to being among the best of the blacks out there. Well, Jack Johnson was the best of the best of all the blacks. Dempsey didn't do anything Johnson hadn't seen from several opponents. However, Dempsey never faced anything like a Johnson.
If Johnson can nullify Dempseys hooks in close and ride out the first 5 rounds without getting tagged...and I mean tagged, then he wins, either by dec. or late round stoppage. it's either Dempsey early or Johnson late.
Omnipotence paradox would be if Joe Louis tried to create a fighter who gave even less ****s than he did. But an unmovable object, in physics, is the same thing as an unstoppable force. I get an odd feeling I have missed the point. I think Johnson has the physical strength and bore to frustrate Dempsey to a decision, but Dempsey would have a good chance to turn things around with one punch. Maybe coming out of a clinch? 60/40 Johnson
