Id say the majority of Aus boxers hold down jobs, apart from the elite few.

Dont know anything about how much Vea gets but $20,000 is very high for aussie boxing in general...average is $300 to $400 per round on the local cards...aussie titles and the like $500 to $600 per round.....so it's hard on fighters

It's not that promoters are ripping people off...it's just boxing is not a main stream sport so not much money around

Guys fighting choc and Green get paid the big bucks and someone mentioned $50,000 to fight Choc sounds right....some guys have been paid 4 times this to fight choc and some 10 times :deal

What does he play? I hope he hasn't been type cast as a Lebanese big mouthed bullying stand over man, like the last character I seen him play on, I think it was, the Australian Contender.

P.S. Whipsy, I here you are coming down for the may 13 fights at the Atrium, any truth to this? I'll be there, could share a beverage or two with me and my mates at our table.

I'm led to believe that their was some sort of trust, i.e. some sort of handshake deal, implied contract.

One can't argue that this was a good move from Wale's point of view.

    Mrs. Luckyboy...

Saying to a certain individual that one may be visiting the MENS ROOM, when infact pissing off to the LADIES ROOM does leave a clear lack of judgement.

Sorry too say lads but the facts are , MOST, ok not all, but MOST, of the imports come here to
Firstly , get in the country through the back door ,

have a good look over the years How many have continued boxing AFTER there visa's come through .

Secondly , the occasional ones with talent , DON'T show loyalty , and i suppose fair play in the sence , that they come here, and in his case go to the states to further there carreer , after all they are profesionals and entitled to do that .

But loyalty is generally not there forte , . Is this guy now a citizen , because if he is'nt i bet he would'nt go until he is .

If you help someone to get in the country , through sport , which to me is through the back door , it costs MONEY and its not cheap , especielly if there not allowed to work , and you have to keep them ,

So has far has i'm concerned , if its just another case of coming here and , staying with the guy who helps you emotionaly and financialy to get here and make a better life for your familly , because remember once he becomes a citizn , its easy for mam dad brother and sister to follow , Any how if thats the objective and after the citizn ship comes through , he wants to **** off elswhere , then its obvious , The guy who brought him has been used , and has far has i'm concerned , citizen ship should be revoked ,

This may not be the case with this guy , but my feelings are if he is talented enough for Roach to take on , WHY did'nt he go to the states in the first place ,

Theres been a few who have spent there hard earned on imports , and to be honest when you go back over the years ,and have a look at how they panned out, I scratch my head , and think WHY .

I suppose , a lot think there going to find a Kosta or a Vic , but realisticly , look who brought them , Mordey and Fenech , so unless your in the same leaugue regarding ability to get sponsors , and big fights when needed . Leave them home let them come in the country through the normal channels , not the back door .

My view may not coincide with every one's but go back over the years , and have a look at imported fighters .

In the words off i think Mickey Duff,,,,,,, this is boxing if you want loyalty get a dog .....

Regards Murray , great bloke and probably disapointed , but heh , he's been around long enough , he would of known it would come sooner or later
