Wilder's right isn't half the punch Marciano's Suzie Q was, Fury isn't getting up, Marciano KO in some pretty deep water like 9-14 and breaks some ribs along the way

Marciano is greater but Fury is clear Fave because he just so much bigger, however, pillow fisted CW Steve Cunningham put Fury on his back, so Rocky most certainly has a punchers chance.

    Whose ribs did Marciano break?

Wilder hits harder than Rocky imo.

OK now we're getting into the "Rocky's heart and work rate would carry the day against Godzilla" territory that I've touched on before.

Every logical assessment of this fight that I can conjure up in my brain is screaming that Fury would destroy him. I know seeing Rocky horizontal, and having the myth and the ideal shattered, is not a pleasant thought to his acolytes.

I gave it a 5 simply because my heart, not my head, is telling me it wouldn't be a done deal.

    Take that as you will.

    So if 6 '3" 210lbs Cunningham can floor Fury- - - - -

How about if 188lbs 39/41 years old Moore can floor Marciano, and, according to Rocky, make him momentarily black out, what happens when 270lbs Fury lands flush on him?

I'd pick Fury if they were the same size. Fury grew up boxing, he's comfortable in the ring, he has boxing skill, he's like a 6-9, 275 pound FMJ, Lomanchenko, RJJ, etc., the guys who grew up around boxing. Fury is a far superior fighter fundamentally, he does everything better and add to that he is bigger, stronger, and faster. People mention Fury's fight with Steve Cunningham. Cunningham would also be a giant compared to RM, better skilled, faster and better, I'd pick Cunningham to easily beat RM too.

Well, no, bad way to look at it. Fury is no more capable or winning though workrate and pressure than Marciano is thoguh height and reach. It isn't a matter of "options." All fighters use wha they got.

I agree. I couldn't vote for zero because anything can happen when 2 world class fighters step in the ring, but this is about as big a mismatch as it gets. Fury holds nearly all the cards, THEN you add in Fury's 60-80 pound and 17 reach advantage and a win for Rocky just isn't realistically feasible.

Walcott was at the literal end of his career and stayed down by his own admission. In their first fight, Rocky needed 13 rounds, and had to come off the canvas to beat a 38 year old Walcott.

Regarding Rex Layne, that also wasn't remotely close to a Dempsey-Willard performance so I have no idea why you brought it up.

Because the Rock smash his teeth in. It was a show of power from Marciano like Dempsey did on Willard.

A couple of overhands by Marciano on Belly's chin from below and Belly goes down like with Cunningham. Another couple and he doesnt get up...anymore. Marciano besides had a best chin and stamina than Fury.

    60% Marciano
    40% Fury

It would be crazy to rule out an undefeated punching machine with the heart of a lion like Rocky but I don't see it as a "pick em" fight so choose 4/10. For all his faults Fury does have balls and showed he can get up off the canvas, this along with his other physical attributes should win him this if he boxes, he could probably jab his way to a points win or perhaps stop Rocky on cuts if fought in today's ring.

On the other hand if this is fought in Rocky's era and Fury decides to fight him then Rocky could break him mentally with a few elbows in the face and punches in the balls, although nothing stopping Fury doing this back! The thought of a low blow from 7 foot tall dude is terrifying!

Fury can win this by keeping the tiny Marciano out at range,or he can make it a slugging brawl and smother Marciano if the smaller man manages to hurt him.Marciano has only one option ,the one he always had to come forward and try to outlast his opponents by incessant pressure. That worked against older men like Louis Walcott,Moore ,and Charles who was near Rocky's age but carrying a hell of a lot more mileage on his clock,It also worked against Layne a poor facsimile of Marciano without his power or conditioning, and against the punchless 185lbs Lastarza who really didn't merit a title shot based on his results.

Why didn't this work against fighters significantly inferior to Fury?
Cockell went into the 9th and was stopped on his feet.
Lastarza lasted into the 11th and was stopped on his feet.

In which fight was Marciano's chin tested and prove superior to Fury's?
Which modern sized ,class heavyweight , in his prime did Marciano beat?

Rocky has a chance, but a slim one. He was never a one punch, first round ko guy like Dempsey but a grinder with insane stamina. He would have to stay away from Furys jab and work the fat body. But most like Fury wins, maybe on cuts.

Joe Frazier, with his bob and weave style and massive left hook, has a better chance of beating Fury.
