I mostly agree, although I would put Fury at A LIKELY 6'7.5", Tyson maybe 5'10.5", & prime Rocky was 185-190.
Really it is 30 lbs. of mostly all Pure Muscle though!

I never implied I was. I'm just giving ways and options that Fury may/ can adopt to win this.
Long range boxing with a telescopic reach and height.
Close in mauling with strength, and 80+ pounds of weight tying up the tiny man with clinching and wearing him out by leaning his vastly heavier weight on him.
In contrast Marciano has one option ,to come forward, swarming the giant, hoping to wear him down with an incessant bombardment. To try and get under his huge reach and work the body.
Do you disagree with my prognosis?
If you do, because I respect your opinions I'd like to hear how you think the fight would go and what other strategies the two men could adopt?
TBH , I was close to ringside when Fury took Whyte out with a perfect uppercut. I think Fury would just go out and punch Marciano into insensibility. That of course is no reflection on Rocky or his quality.
ps When 6' 4 " 255lbs Whyte managed to get inside he couldn't ." boss "Fury why would Marciano be any more successful?

No fight result is a certainty but, imo, this is as close as it gets.

Other than Whyte, you can also look at the 3 fights with Chisora whose closer in height to Rocky. Both were shorter, durable, high energy pressure fighters with pitbull mentalities and styles. Chisora was absolutely miserable and unable to accomplish jack in 3 attempts despite being 50 lbs heavier than Rocky and still got tied up and effortlessly outboxed throughout the trilogy.

Imagine seeing them at the press conferences together. Rocky Marciano was a much smaller man than Sefer Seferi. And not that it matters either way in this case but are people also aware that Rocky came to the sport of boxing significantly later than Deontay Wilder?

The overwhelming consensus before the fight would be that it was a grotesque mismatch and shouldn't be allowed to proceed. Most of the people who actually wanted to see it would be fairly extreme sadists. Would 35%+ be backing Rocky at 5/10 or more if they had to pick the winner with their lives on the line?

The poll does a good job in exposing fantasy matchups as popularity contests.

Marciano made a virtue of his smallness. He could get so low that guys had trouble hitting him. I have posted the quotes about how hard he is to hit a number of times and I don't mean to be obnoxious by posting them again, bu tit is the old axiom in boxing: make a tall fighter taller, made a small fighter smaller.

A crouching fighter has to come up out of the crouch to connect on a much taller fighter,as Johnson observed before the Burns fight.

Its not like Rocky was a fast on his feet fighter like Dempsey,he was methodical,
Marciano would have enough trouble landing on Fury's chin if he was standing erect.
Looking at this match up I see Fury as faster, bigger, with more skills ,and better skin ,being only cut once.
Fury got up from Wilder's right hand and stopped him,I think he takes the few punches Rocky is able to land on his chin with equanimity.
Rocky was dropped by188lbs Moore, a great light heavyweight puncher, but not a great heavyweight one.Rocky ,according to himself ,"blacked out for a couple of seconds," he was also so discombobulated that when he got up he started for the ropes expecting a standing count, which was waived in title fights.
Marciano was dwarfed by the 6 '3" Ali, imagine what he would look like standing against Fury?

Fury knocks Marciano out ,or Rocky is rescued by the referee ,and it will be an early night if Fury means business and is not in a playful mood.
Marciano according to Walcott, was not hard to hit,[I think he proved that,]but he was hard to hit with a meaningful wallop.
Rocky was cut in all his major fights and in danger of being stopped against Simmons and Charles.
A one handed Louis cut and marked him up with the remnants of his jab.
Whom do you think will be hurt the most by his opponents punches the 275lbs Fury ? Or the 185lbs Marciano?

Fury would be the puncher here, imo.

That's an unusual, albeit accurate consideration, Mcvey. Tbf, I think he would struggle hitting Fury's chin even whilst flaccid ;)

I love Rocky…along with Dempsey and Willie Pep he’s my favourite pre 1970s fighter. I find it extremely difficult to go against him in H2Hs.

So it is with great difficulty and a very heavy heart that I have to accept that faced with such a massive size difference, and against a giant that can actually move, punch, recover well from adversity, and is great at using his size in any way that is advantageous to him, that Rocky may well struggle to get anything from this contest.
(Translation: The great Marciano will get flattened!)

    Still love ya Rocky!

Rocky was great and he’d die trying in this fantasy matchup but some things just ain’t a gonna happen.

Lol, Rocky crouching low and making himself even smaller just makes it easier for the towering Fury to see what he's going to do with those telegraphed movements. If Fury take a step back, wtf is a crouching Rocky going to hit, Fury's kneecaps? He can already barely even hit Fury in the chest while standing straight up.

The desperate arguments Rocky fans come up with are comedy gold.

I just looked back at the thread I started a while back, which I thought went well except for one poster toward the end, about why Rocky is so beloved.

I think people even in an imaginary scenario that will never happen because Rocky has been in the clay (metaphorically; don’t get literal and remind me that he’s in a vault) for 53 years and would be 100 this year if he’d lived don’t want to even contemplate the picture of him horizontal and unconscious on the canvas.

    2. Rocky was undefeated so I cannot say 0, but I am close because of size.. Rocky against a Frazier or Tyson gets a 0 on style and their bigger size, but this fight because of Fury's style makes me say 2.

Why would he need to beat him, if Fury would just allow him to sit on three of the belts, and fight a UFC fighter instead?
