On a scale of 1 to 10, how sad is this fight?

    This is the fight I watched this morning. I give it a 7 or an 8. But you have to consider the context, of course. Keep in mind, this was a world champion in 2008.

    At least it was a good knockout.

    Note: While this is a full fight video, it is from Top Rank's official channel and therefor can't cause any copyright problems. It's permitted by Top Rank's official youtube channel.

    It is bad,but you can only fight who they give you.These kind of fights are too common.You would expect a better level of opposition for a guy like Peter.Id giv it an 8 as a crap match up.

    True. And even at his lightest, he'll still be built like a refrigerator. I think they're just giving him these crap fights to keep him in shape for a name guy. Which might be working. But, damn. There's about a hundred people in the audience, it looks like. Dead silent, no commentators. Wasn't televised, only put on Top Rank's youtube channel as far as I can tell.

    Man, that was a poor fight, I'd give it a 2 at the most.

    Also watched the Briggs fight agaisnt McGhee, also very poor.

    I can't belive there are so few people! It was never going to be a classic, but I would have paid decent money and went quite a bit out of my way to see Sam Peter. I'm no fan, but its a guy who gave Wladimir Klitschko a very good fight a few years back. Where was this??

    this is my thinking to. i'm no fan of peter but he was a world champion and a big deal not too long ago; would have been a chance to see a former, semi elite in person (and likely up close by the looks of the crowd). as for the fight, it was what was it was i guess: a keep busy fight by a modestly talented ex champ and a guy paid to be knocked out

    The guy was flat out on the floor, not moving, eyes closed...and yet the ref kept counting...odd.

    Wow, after watching that- the idea that Peter can still be competitive with the top fighter in the world is beyond a joke. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't make it past Aguilera, imagine what WK would do to him now? Sam Peter has been going downhill since his last fight with Wlad;

    • Knocked down 3 times by Jameel McCline
    • Beaten pillar to post by Vitali Klitschko
    • Taken to school by Eddie Chambers
    The sad thing is he looked to be on the way up when he fought WK, but it turned out to be his peak. Sam Peter could have been so much more than he has become

    What he needs now is a trainer like Micky to slap him; 'And that was from a washed out old pug like me. Imagine what the champ would do to you?'

    He still needs to drop some weight and work on stamina. He tends to plod around more than before. I think he may be gun shy due the knock downs and VK pounding.
