a 100 meter sprinter main form of training is lifting weights. It actually makes them more explosive.

Lookm at mma fighters, they are very muscular and some fight 5x5 minute rounds or 3x5 minute rounds no problem. Stamina isnt an issue

stamina is always an issue even if you don't see it. right down to decision making and having enough clarity to make the right one.

i dont expect anyones decision making to be as sharp in the 5th round as it is in the 1st. Lots of mma guys do the 5 minutes rounds no problem and the more muscular guys dont get knocked out by thinner guys because they cant make decisions fast enough. Look at Aussie rules players, they are all muscular and some of them run up to 20km per game, stamina isnt an issue there.
You can not say because you have muscle you have no stamina, its not true

Weights aren't really meant for targeting the afferent division though are they, it's the efferent division being used. It's the CNS sending the order to overcome the resistance, causing the neuromuscular system to adapt in response to the stress. Feeling is important but training with weights is for gross movements, powerful movements that don't require precision. I respect everything you have to say Scrap but I don't understand your aversion to weights, it can't really be disputed that they do make an individual stronger and in turn more powerful. With a balanced training program can't they only be a good thing?

True Lefty, but were all looking for adaptions through feel, the fastest response unit in our arsenal. So the problem I have with weights, metal ones are they are constant, where the neuromuscular system is not, levers, contractions, different ressitance reqiurments. It depends how you look at it, I have over the yearsusing rubber as resistance, better as it works simular to muscle as regarding expansion and contractionhelping not to tighten tendons as much if at all. I mention the slap or the Tickle a few times, that was in regards to this subject. Been using it for a few year now, the results weve got are making a lot of top people come on board. talk later.
