Difference with Trinidad and Khan is Trinidad had brutal power in both hands and had one punch knock out power whereas Khan relies on punches in bunches and speed. Very different fighters.
Chin has shown little heart so far in his career. A get out of jail free card got him through the Limond fight and he has not had one testing opponent apart from on that one night. His chin looks dodgy but this fact is made worse by awful "no bottle" match making. The main problem with Khan is not his chin or heart it is the fact he is a punch shy coward.
It might be some time before we find out Hatton had to wait until Tszyu for his first decent test and JC waited until Kessler for his first top test (I didnt rate Lacy) and those were Warren fighters without a suspect chin, Khan will probably be 43 when he gets a decent opponent lol
Agree, when he has been hit he has a look on his face as though "**** thats not ment to happen", as though the opponent is going against the script by hitting back. Also i have noticed in a few of his fights when he does get hit he stops dead instead of moving away.
When I watched Khan against St. Claire, I didn't see much improvement to when he fought in the Olympics. Physically he has matured, and his fitness level has increased, but apart from that I can't really see how he's got much better. I don't buy into this idea that he will develop into an amazing fighter, I reckon he is closer to his peak than a lot of people think.
Is it at all possible that Amir's ability to take a shot could improve as he develops, especially if he starts taking hard shots? Perhaps when he moves up a weight, he'll be stronger? I get the feeling he's a bit tight at the weight he usually fights at now, there was something about him having a very low bodyfat percentage. That's not a good idea.
The Khan v St Clair fight was little more than an exercise for Khan to get 12 rounds under his belt. It wasn't a competitive affair and I found it quite frustrating to watch.
Not directly relevant, but still...I wasn thinking that even if Khan breaks the record of Hamed, for the youngest British World Champ, it wouldn't prove what he in his heart of hearts hopes it would prove - that he is, or will ever be, better than Hamed...:yep [yt]pfUFYtXNN0A[/yt]
Fact... Khan was a better amateur then Khan. Opinion... He will NEVER scale the same heights as Hamed as a pro.
