if tua had the team that now surrounds leapai, tua would own most of samoa, and be more revered than he already is. my favourite, all time great, samoan fighter,...their first ever world champion, was Maselino Masoe....... champion bloke, champion fighter, and a big punching, big hearted 2x olympian that found the right pro trainer at the end of his career...and won a world title despite the despotic don king. i think mase was 36 when he ko'd evans ashira to win the WBA middle title. .
Actually hope he gets at least one last title shot. And why not? All these other old guys have had multiple. multiple chances. I don't think he has much a chance against the Klits though but those guys are head and shoulders above the rest atm.
yes, if its ok for ruiz to get title shot after title shot and holyfield etc. then no reason why tua wouldn't be acceptible. i think we need to forget tua's last fight. it was as if he just didn't try at all. against a klit i think he would be a shitload more hungrier. and tua would make the klits more fearful then any other possible contender atm if u ask me.
Please don't mention Tua and Holyfield in the same body of writing ever again, unless it's to say "Tua used to spar Holyfield". That is all.
If we're talking right now I'd say Tua easily. Peak vs peak (ie Toney on steroids) I'd favour Toney, but like to see it. (only my two bobs worth)
because ike throws fairy punches does he? and evander has never been knocked out has he? just cause u have a different opinion doesn't mean u r 100% correct. sorry to tell u. lol.
I wouldn't count it out entirely, I believe Tua was being considered for a Klit fight in December. It's a shame Tua drew with Barrett, that win could have really set him up. With Povetkin, Haye, Valuev and most of the other top 10 heavies ruled out of contention, Tua getting a crack is not that far of a stretch. He does have name recognition and as a promototer you could really hype the danger of Tua's left hook, even though in reality he'd probably suffer a one-sided loss worse than the one he recieved from Lennox Lewis.
