You are missing the point. ANYONE can call out big names in different divisions and claim they are being ducked by the best. How many top contenders from '47 to '68 is he trying to fight since the big names are 'avoiding' him?

I like Williams, but he has VERY few wins over top 10 ranked guys in any division he says he can fight in.
At 147, he's 2-1
At 154, 1-0
At 160, 1-0 (if Winky was even ranked due to his inactivity)
At 168, 0-0

PW won't lose to Martinez man. He deserves respect for taking a southpaw on short notice though. And also, he would deserve even more respect if the fight was at 154 for the WBC

 

well you really cant blame the guy, he did call out just about everyone, but nobody came through. he's not purposely passing himself off as the most avoided fighter in boxing for marketing, he's saying it out of frustration because its true. nobody wants to fight him. everybody wants to call winky "washed up", "past his best" since he was completely out classed, out boxed and any other synonym you can think of. a win over winky wright is a good name on your resume two year lay-off or not, it made paul williams credible.

First they claim that PW walks around at 157lbs and can barely make 160lbs, then he can't get down to 154. Wtf?

 

No, but at the same time....ANYONE can call out the biggest names of a division. Williams not being able to get a fight is total bull****. He just cannot get the fights HE wants. Kirkland challenged him (before going to jail), he said Kirkland was too unknown. Martinez finally got a fight after trying before. Same with Dzindiruk. Allen Green called him out too, after Williams was declined by Hopkins. Hell, I'm sure Ishe Smith would jump at a chance for a fight. The point is, the fights are there. Williams seems to want to jump right to title shots in all division w/o paying his dues against top contenders of the divisions.

oh i see, so because PW doesn't fight every single fighter in every single division automatically means he's avoiding the fights?? maybe its because he's already proved himself by beating margarito, he's proven that his skills are world class, so why would he fight anyone with a low ranking?? not fighting kirkland at the time was a good move on his behalf, as a win over him wouldn't do much to solidify his contender status, again AT THE TIME. point of the matter is, paul williams doesn't have to fight the fights YOU wanna see. if he wants to fight title holders, he has every right too.
