He was bloody dangerous but as a heavyweight he's ****ed. And no I don't think he'd do all that well at 205lbs, though he'd spark Bader or any other person with a grappling advantage stupid enough to stand with him.

He'd be a ****ing Lombard-esque midget as well.

Nah too small for HW and the game did pass him by technically, combined with age ect

But for his time he was very good. Good striker, awesome right hand, tough as nails and a decent defensive guard for a striker in that time frame

One of my favourites, could do well at a lower weight today but Id file him under ATG pioneer

Yes, until he gets a shot at the belt.. JDS would have a huge size advantage and would put some hurt on em'.. Igor crumbles within 4 rounds.

@ 205 he would be half the fighter he is, but could probably break JJ's leg on a check.

How do you all think he'd have done against the other MMA pioneers he didn't fight, like Bas Rutten and such like?

-Bas outclasses him, joint lock about 5 minutes in

-Fedor rocks his block, fights a measured pace and walks away with a UD

-Big Nog controls the fight, submits him late.

-Barnett by joint lock or choke

I think Mark Hunt would be an excellent matchup for him, but Igor would lose that one too.

He had nice counters and the power of a horse in his fists to KO people

Had a good sprawl. Good leg kicks. I can see him beating a lot of people at 205. People overrate the UFC here as well?

Man was an absolutel wrecking ball....he had P4P the heaviest hands in mma at the time and he showed no hesitation.when he let his fists fly. One of my all time favorite fighters.

I wish Shamrrock hadn't got injured and they'd fought in 2001. Would have been a hell of a fight.

He was ranked as the number heavy in the world circa 1999 or so. And made his name beating up giants who outweighed him by 100lbs.
Going by his aggression and punching power alone id say he'd do very handily. Although its always difficult to compare era's as Igor fought when it was truly no holds barred. The PRIDE rules fitted him perfectly.

Thats a good shout..Personally on power alone i think he'd have tooled Rutten. For his time the guy was a legit heavyweight. People can rag on his size but Igor had a different kind of power in his mitts. Build wise he reminds me of Pat Barry. Except FAR more devastating. I'm sure Igor has probably killed men before...With his bare hands....

That was before Ken blew his knee out so he would have been to wrestle him. If he tried to trade bombs then yeah he's getting ****ed.
