I agree with that. But if you are unable to defend yourself and are not even fighting back... yeah, thats not a war anymore. That means the fight is over.

In the end, I think the stoppage could have extended JRock’s career. That cut was really bad and he was taking some punishment. I was rooting for JRock and agreed with the stoppage. Upsets are part of boxing. JRock is very committed and mentally strong. I think he will be back and will learn from this fight. Everyone loves a comeback!

It was a great fight. A rematch is very welcome. Personally I only gave Rosario the second round. Jrock clearly won the other 3 completed rounds for me. That said Banana man was walking through everything jrock hit him with and had a relentlessly determined look about him at all times. A bit of s Munguia type fighter I feel. In fact Banana v Munguia would be spectacular!

Big Williams fan, but it wasn't a bad stoppage by the ref as unsteady as Williams was. I would have let him take another shot or two to see what happens as he was the champ, but Williams can only blame himself, as he is the fighter. Maybe he didn't take the kid seriously, or more likely he lost focus after the cut. If you look at the damage developing under both of Williams' eyes you could see that Rosario was a sharp puncher, and also had decent skill.

then you won’t have a sport because when guys start dying and having massive amounts of brain damage on a more regular basis it will stop getting sanctioned.

Same. Williams was doing alright and winning the rounds but Rosario just wouldn't quit and the stoppage was fine. Man Rosario vs Munguia would be awesome!

Or Rosario v Hurd. They’re very similar IMO. Or rematch jrock. In general I’d like to say that jrock is probably still the best of the three and with a better approach he can win a rematch with Rosario: he just needs to concentrate on defense pick Rosario off, and let him rosario tire himself out hitting fresh air. Forget about tryna ko Rosario while he is fresh in the the early rounds. Rosario is fairly basic ...he’s just big, strong, tough and persistent which is enough to beat lots of guys but he will fall short against anyone with that little bit extra.

He was hurt before catching all that.

Stoppage was fine.. he was out of it and still getting clipped, that uppercut was brutal.

JRock has no chin and was fighting a blown up Rosario.

Good stoppage. J-Rock wasn't out on his feet but he was badly hurt and not fighting back or defending himself either, so good stoppage.
As some other poster before me has already pointed out here, Rosario is a real good fighter. Everybody spoke about him having power but being limited. But dude showed good eyes and some serious skills yesterday to go with that power. He saw the openings in J-Rocks defense and used them. And he was very sharp and prepared. He said he had a 16 week camp leading up to that fight, and it sure looked like it.

He never recovered from hellacious left hook counter that landed at 2:10 of the 5th.

The referee rightly jumped in at 1:26 because he was completely out of it, and on the verge of being dropped very hard.

I heard it happened the other day when he bit into a slightly overcooked shepherd's pie.
