I know im gonna get caught in a **** storm for this one but hey..In my opinion he was one of the most underrated in boxing .. He;s gotta comback fight in April against an opponent to be announced. Any thought on where Paul goes from here?
i just want to see him get on track PERIOD.... i dont know, i know dorin is a tough customer but spaddy didnt impress me with the draw... although its been so damn long since that fight that if i remember i think i had it for spaddy... but id just like to see him get on track, not sure how he would do cuz i have no clue how he looks in the ring now.
He;s a good buddy of mine..He use to pop up at 3rd avenue gym here in pittsburgh every now an then..He's doing good i hear from mutual friends..I didnt see his last fight..tho i heard he had a tough time..
I think he admitted he was drinking heavily for that whole training camp and using drugs etc. Paul could still come back and have a decent career if he can get straight. There is money for him to make for sure but will he be able to do it?
Its been a long road and with not having fought in a year, he needs a string of activity to get back and ready. When right? Spat is a slick and difficult as they come. He wasnt right for Dorin and it showed. No excuses. He's much stronger at 140 than 135 and could still get in that title mix with a stream of focus and activity. Maybe Floyd will one day like to AVENGE that ass whipping from the gym??
Skilled southpaw fighter but absolutely no punch. I'm not sure he was all that underrated, he never fought tough competition. His best performances were Manfredy and Dorin, and I thought he lost the Dorin fight. His style isn't really conducive to a comeback of any success, since it's based largely on counterpunching and timing. I seriouly doubt he makes another run at contention.
It wasnt the stomach, but the side of the chest, and she pulled the gun on him FIRST. Inexcusable regardless, but they were both very heavily under the influence.
His best "performance" was Cardona. That was Spat at his best. He's still a 140 Contender with activity. In fact? If he see's the prize? A titlist or twp could fall:yep
That was a good one, but Pito wasn't world class. I liked watching Spadafora, you don't see guys with that style much. Pure boxer, but not tons of lateral movement. Very slick.
Wasnt implying cardona was, but 3 months later? Spat spanked Floyd in the gym. During that PERIOD, Spadafora was at the top of his game.
I agree with you, he was a very good fighter. Strangely enough, I also want to see Gerald Nobles box again.
