Well,,he fight still set to fight in Erie on Friday. Although, there has been nothing in the Pittsburgh area papers or on the boxing sites for weeks regarding it. Also, it has already been postponed once due to a Spadafora illness. Has anyone heard anything else in regards to Spaddy??? It is a pretty busy weekend for Pittsburgh area boxing with cards in Erie on Friday, Morgantown on Saturday, and at Mountaineer on Sunday, so I am waiting trying to decide which one to attend. Anyways, if anyone has any info, let me know,,thanks

 

They had visa isues with the first opponent for Spadafora and were trying to get a guy for Yusef Mack who helps make the card a little better.

Spadafora is now supposed to be fighting Shad Howard. Still not sure who Mack's opponent is.

Should still be a good event and worth a Friday trip:good

Hey this fight is activity anyway. Spat needs a few fights and consistent camps to get ready for a real challenge. He's been through a whole lot and hasnt been active.

 

I usually get slammed on some other boards for being pro Spaddy, but I will always be appreciate him for bringing some exposure and decent live boxing to Pittsburgh. Because of him, I have been able to see guys like Jermain Taylor, Winky Wright, etc all fight in person. I wish Spaddy nothing but continued success. I just wish he would fight closer to Pittsburgh. I am not sure I can make it up to Erie on a weeknight after work :-(.......I am pretty sure I am just gonna head down to Mountaineer on Sunday afternoon to see Minto, Kimbrough, et al.

Pittsburgh native Paul Spadafora, the former IBF lightweight champion, will return to the ring from nearly a 14-month absence when he fights St. Louis boxer Shad Howard on April 25 in a 10-round welterweight bout at the Avalon Hotel in Erie. Spadafora, 32, is 40-0-1. His most recent bout was March 9, 2007, a split-decision win against Oisin ***an at Mt. Pleasant, Mich. Spadafora returned to the ring in November 2006 after a 32-month absence which included a prison sentence for allegedly shooting his girlfriend in October 2003.

 

The guy is a mess. Sadly because he was pretty good -- not as good as I think many thought, but not a bad fighter none the less.

 

Thats nothing more than a bull**** rumour. The guy in the tape didnt even look like Floyd and you couldnt even see his face to confirm without a doubt it was Floyd. Theres no way in a million years Spaddy would EVER own Floyd. Spaddy had trouble with Dorin and scraped a draw. Gatti blew Dorin away with a bodyshot. The maths make sense as by the time Dorin and Spaddy fought Dorin had one foot in retirement was never much of a puncher and was at the tail end of his career and still gave Spaddy hell.
