On reflection, how do you rate Hatton's performance v Malignaggi?

Yes, I am becoming a bit of a fan. I love the Tszyu performance, and I think Ricky was a BEAST back in the Tackie/Oliveira days. I always love a good bodypuncher, and the Hitman is that if anything. I like his attitude as a fighter too. He's growing on me. I still think (and hope) Pac beats him, but I really want him to do well in the rest of his career.

 

Seriously, you couldn't be more wrong. Just because I am a Pacquiao fan does not mean I hate his opponents. I love Marquez, Barrera, Morales, and back in the day I was a big Oscar fan. This thread was a genuine question because I found this such a hard fight to judge. I am starting to really like Ricky Hatton as a fighter, and I have said time and again that this is a 50-50 fight and that Hatton has a good chance of victory.

Please do not impose your own childish and irrational fanboy mentality on real boxing fans. :hi:

 

If you haven't seen me giving Brit fighters due respect, you can't have been on the board much lately then. You've missed me going to war in defence of Hatton and Haye (Hatton especially, and very recently. Check my post history).

And irrespective of how good Hatton was v Paulie, he is not Roy Jones in terms of speed. He should not have been able to land straight lead hooks right off the mush so easily and/or so frequently.

 

Not at all. Check my posts over the last week. I fought for about 12 pages and 5 hours in defence of Hatton's warrior mentality. When was the last time you went to bat for a British fighter so convincingly?? Your allegation is ill-informed and unfounded.

I mentioned Jones because he had the speed to leap and single-shot to the head against anyone. Ricky shouldn't be able to do that against top class fighters because he does not possess that speed. Malignaggi's defence must be called into question.
