Sonny Bill is a joke. Sure, good on him for giving boxing a go, but it's laughable that some people actually take him seriously. I recall reading an article on him in the paper, and I laughed hard when I read Mundine saying that SBW was the next Muhammad Ali.

 

Ease up. This will only be his fourth professional fight - how many up-and-coming boxers do you know who start facing quality opposition that quickly?

You should be harrassing the media and Mundine for the hype not Sonny.

In terms of ability; athletically he is up there with the likes of Wlad Klits and Haye, skillwise he's ok but his last fight against Lewis proved he has a loooooong way to go. Unless he gives up rugby and focuses on his boxing I don't think he's going to get further than the club fighting scene.

But I tell you what, if I was a trainer, and a heavyweight prospect walked into my gym like him and said he wanted to be a boxer I'd jump at the opportunity to turn a naturally gifted athlete into a fighter.

 

Considering that heavyweight boxers seem to be carrying on to their late 30s,its conceivable he could contiinue his rugby career,boxing on the side until hes in his early 30s and then retire from rugby and really give boxing a go.
