he does things on his own. as a counter example you could look at Cotto who has his family behind him and his promoter running things 100% and who was brought up in a boxing environment with alot of support
Hopkins used to be a loner, he used to be constantly against authority, ran his own business, didn't really have a manager or promoter, I think that's what was meant by him being a loner - he always did have Bouie Fischer and Nazeem with him though Now-a-days with Golden Boy behind him, you can't call him a loner anymore.
