Woohoo! Yeah, he seemed to get more and more relaxed with you as it went; felt like you could have kept him another hour and he wouldn't have minded at all, buggy software and all. He had sounded a little slurred to me in recent interviews, but I guess he just sounds that way when tense, because it vanished like lightning during that interview. :smoke

 

Yeah he warmed up really good but he's not unique....all our guests want to come back and I think Peter McNeeley is after a date with Boxing Girl. He even invited her and Nick to come do a broadcast from his gym if he decides he's capable of fighting again....but don't call it a comeback! he never retired officially. Nate The Great Campbell has been on a couple times and he was on fire last time...great guy to interview or just plain talk to.

I knew Jenna was gonna be good at doing this but I didn't know she'd be this good nor did I know that she'd find a guy like Nick Powers either. She's got to be P4P the #1 20 year old female boxing fan in the world. Nick is a huge fan but he is IMO P4P #1 in the world at boxing impressions. Both absolute naturals and both only 20 years old.

You guys need to phone in when we have guests on that you'd like to have a chance to ask a question to. That's what that phone number is plastered all over the place for. Even if you're not near a computer at the time when you call, the show is broadcast through the phone. The whole idea is to give more access to these fighters. Where else can you actually call in and talk to some of these guys with an almost certain chance to get to ask em a question? I'd be hitting it if I was a listener. I missed On The Grind when they had James Toney live....I wanted to try to call in and get a chance to talk to him. That was a really good show.

 

I always feel like I'm imposing on guys I idolize by doing that - really need to get over that nonsense. Unless I score a spot by them at the table or bar when I drag myself over to AC and I can put them on my tab, I get all hiding-behind-Mommy's-leg kinds of shy.

 

Well ****...I'm sure we can set up a way for you to pay to talk to the fighters if that will make you feel better. We don't want any guilty consciences on this talk radio show. :good

 

Well, I guess the phone call will be expensive enough. If there's a "no guilty conscience" sign on the door, though, I'm screwed no matter what. I'll try and kick my ass into calling next time I remember to tune in. Which should, hopefully, be next week.

He seems like 1 hell of a guy....listened to his interview with On The Grind last night. I had my sister put up flyers for me at Western Michigan U that he was coming on with us. I'm hoping somebody calls in that remembers him from the time he went to school there.
