The problem isn't the idea of the tournament, it's the numbers involved. Having the best fight each other is a great idea, but it would be better if there was 4 boxers involved. Less hassle, straight elimination.
A British & Irish super 6 at middleweight would have been quality. Macklin Barker McEwan Lee Duddy Murray
The Super 6 format has got the best in the division fighting each other on a consistant basis, so I like the format. Ideally I'd like to see more 4-way bouts such as Khan-Maidana and Bradley-Alexander with the winners fighting each other. Vitali-Solis Wlad-Haye Cunningham-Lebvedev Huch-Green etc.
I liked the idea and concept and Showtime must be applauded for trying something new while also matching top fighters in competitive bouts. It's not been a smooth ride but its been entertaining and enjoyable and the 360 shows are quality aswell. I'd like to see it in other divisions and I hope Showtime stick with it.
I'd rather push it up to 8, have it a straight knock out and let the people who go out carry on with their career fighting whoever they like.
Much too long and I have lost interest, like many of us.It is no longer special Should have been just 4 with a single elimination like the Bantam tourney.Shoprt, sweet and exciting with everything on the line each fight.
the only weaknesses is its too long and all the unpredictabilities of boxing. Most people would expect someone to drop out during the group stages. Boxers at this level are unlikely to take 2 losses in a row and then take another big fight with/without a tune up.
It should have been an 8 man knockout tourney from the start, group stages was silly. Nice Avatar BTW Matt Ldn
