I was in attendance for this fight in Sydney. Mosely was the hot favorite with Mundine a 3 to 1 underdog.
After a 20 year pro career Mosely had never been stopped. Mundine used his jab well and was able to hurt Mosley with right hands and left hooks. Mosely did have some moments though before Mundine broke him down. Mundine was leading 58-56 on two cards and 60-55 on the third before forcing Mosely to say No Mas.

As the great Barry Michael once said the Mundine punches were like bullets in the night.

Sugar wasn't nearly as sweet as Mundine.

How much longer would Mosley have lasted against a prime Mundine?

Prime Mundine circa 2005 to 2008 at 168 gives current Canelo all he can handle.

Jeez mate, let’s not get carried away. Mundine was KO’d by Sven Ottke who couldn’t crack an egg. I know it was earlier than the dates above but Mundine wasn’t world class. He was a very good gatekeeper but that’s about it.

Mosley was also 42 years old and well past it when Mundine beat him.

this is only a testament to how far Mosley had fallen by this time and how much he was willing to do for money…

I think you’re generally a good poster, but I’ve noticed you lose sight of rationale when it comes to Mundine for some reason..

I hear you mate but Choc was no gatekeeper a gatekeeper does not beat Danny Green, Antwun Echols, Daniel Geale or KO Sam Soliman. He got KO’d by Ottke in his 11th fight after giving him hell and then stood up to big punchers like Kessler, Echols and Green. Choc would at least bring the fight to Canelo unlike Charlo.

Fair enough but Mundine is a lot better than he gets credit for.

I can agree with this. Id say he’s more of an “under achiever” than someone who just flat out sucked or something.

Mosley retired the fight with back cramps from memory. Constant issue through his career
