On this day in 1973 Ken Norton became the second man to defeat Muhammad Ali. Famously Ali suffered a broken jaw in this fight.
Which other heavyweight that has challenged for the title could have beaten Ali that day?

No other HW in the same time period, that's for sure.

I was taking baby photos in a Montgomery Wards in Ohio....watched the whole thing in the TV department.

You young whippersnappers should be banned! in 1973 I was 22 years old. No, I never saw Harry Greb in person.

Berbick was always a second rate tomato can. Nothing more. Did you see the whiner get dropkicked by Holmes? Hysterical.

This was the worst Ali up to that point in time. Quite a lot of people would've beaten him that night.

I remember seeing it live on ABC's Wide World Of Sports, a friend called after the fight to get my goad, I told he could kiss where the sun never shines, we laughed about it later. I was sure surprised as many were.

Thats why Norton would beat them both with ease in his prime.

One example of Howard Cosell's total lack of boxing knowledge. Gave Norton no chance.
