How many other fighters could have taken the amount of right hands Hagler took from Hearns in the epic 1st round of this classic bout?

At middleweight, GGG might have. Sugar Ray Leonard probably could.

I love the "War", one of my favorite matches.

Always thought that when Hagler knocked down Hearns he headbutted, though.

I don't think Tommy was ready for that pace...

No way could Ray have taken those right hands.

The Greatest 1st rd in history. But after that the only real drama was would the ref stop the fight because of the cut Hagler had.
But Hagler continued his pace , Hearns couldn't keep up. Hearns got KO'ed.

I always thought Marvin was very tired in round 3. Take a look at round 3 and Marvin was missing and very fatigued. Hearns was tired and still Marvin was starting to miss. Marvin did come out right handed in the 3rd round, but Tommy was landing his jab. He was just too tired to keep it up. Had Tommy been able to go a couple more rounds and keep jabbing. Big trouble for Marvin, but Tommy was exhausted so. Tommy could not go further but had Tommy been able to jab and move for 2 more rounds. Very interesting. Marvin's arms were tired.. But he summouned the strength to land that right after the cut was inspected to rock Tommy and then another smaller right and then the finisher.
