It's the Tim Bradley effect. Crawford stays undefeated and active for a long time, slowly moving up the ranks.
Usually others just jump into the top fold. Think Roman Gonzales. Dude was mostly known by the hardcore fans only and poof! P4P!

Those two resumes are not comparable. Loma has the clear edge there.

I am a huge Crawford fan and hope he fights Spence while both are prime. My only gripe with him is the number of fights he’s had in Omaha and the weak opposition he’s faced, especially at WW. Somehow he’s managed to avoid every top WW, and I’m not saying it’s totally his fault. Spence, Thurman, Manny, Danny Garcia, Porter, etc. we know Crawford can beat bums but we’ve never seen him against a top WW. Even a guy like Brook or Danny Garcia would be entertaining. Thurman has fought Porter, Manny and Danny G. Spence has fought Brook and is fighting Porter next. Crawford might be the best talent at WW and we still haven’t seen him fight a decent challenger.

I think Crawford can be top dog but that’s a crown you earn. Until he fights a top 3 WW, I would take him out of PFP consideration altogether. I want to see him fight a talented guy his own size and not in Omaha. A neutral site will be fine. He can be the biggest star in boxing and he’s wasting his prime.

How so? Crawford was in bigger trouble vs Gamboa than Loma ever was, Loma fights against bigger men, Crawford vs smaller

I don't buy the Crawford hype. He's a fine fighter. He has a powerful promoter. He has a big network behind him. But I don't think he's great in the least.

And the "big wins" over Jeff Horn, a one-legged Jose Benavidez and Amir Khan are looking more comical by the day.

I don't believe he's one of the top five welterweights, let alone the best pound-for-pound in the world. What a joke.

Spence, Pac, Thurman, Porter and even Danny Garcia have beaten better fighters than Crawford has. Crawford could've fought all those guys. Instead, he re-upped with Arum. It was his choice.

Depends how much you rate wins over an ancient Rigo jumping up 2 divisions, Gary Russell Jr and multiple KO victim Linares.

I don’t see how these wins are superior to Gamboa, Postol, Khan etc

Bravo sir! I remember after Postol whooped Mattesey. Haters came on here saying Crawford would vacate before facing a monster like Postol.

Actually Crawford is similar to Golovkin. Although he didn't beat top guys, he did what he had to do with the opposition placed in front of him. Crawford and G made decent guys look like they didn't belong in the same state let alone the ring with them. They both pass the eye test and that's why I rate them high.

You are seriously tripping out if you don’t consider Crawford a top 5 WW. Look at how he dealt with Horn compared to Pacquiao, who then went on to beat Thurman, Broner and Matthysse clearly.

In the least ambitious period in boxing history literally nobody has fought anybody and a p4p list must be based on the eye test rather than resume. This decade was dominated like the last one by PAC and Floyd because these young lions lack the balls to match their skills.

rofl no. You know the right people you fight the belt. Your comment is so naive that we can even see your bad faith in it.

It's called confirmation bias. You don't want crawford to be p4p so when he accomplishes anything people will just say he exposed a weak opponent or division. Meanwhile, Loma gets a competitive fight from pedraza or Campbell and everyone is says those guys are actually underrated and they chalk it up as a quality win.
