Kirkland is a good opponent and I will enjoy watching this fight. But Andrade would have been even better.

I'm not buying that BS. Kirkland was carefully selected. It's hard to beat Canelo in Texas and you can ask Trout that. Plus Kirkland can be bought and I suspect he has been. This fight stinks to high heaven and I'm not giving that bum Canelo an ounce of credit for it.

I concur. Angulo, Trout, Lara, Mayweather...Cotto was scared, so now Kirkland. I was critical when he was on the way up, but to be fair he was learning on the job and he's strung together a really nice run. Definitely like his attitude about taking on challenges.

I'd like him more if he beat Trout and Lara clearly, but hey.

Canelo beat Trout and Lara beat Canelo. I wouldn't mind seeing Floyd fight Kirkland too much, but when the man gets 32 million dollars a fight, I want to see him earn it fighting the best. For that kind of money he should be fighting Pacquiao, Andrade, Lara, Golovkin, etc. But Mayweather can't fight Kirkland anyway and keep his belts because Kirkland hasn't fought in a year and isn't ranked anywhere.

i think its alot less risky then the lara fight and trout fight but still a great fight. nothing but respect for canelo, running into the flames

why the fk do you care how much money he's making per fight? you paying him? you know damn well, if fmj was to pick on kirkland, you and the entire boxing world would be in an uproar screaming "cherrypick" at the top of your voice. I mean floyd fought maidana a TWO DIVISION world champ and mfkers were calling it a cherrypick...but because it's canelo, all of a sudden kirkland is "a good matchup"...so much bullschit.

you must be mexican...look, if canelo was fighting lara or andrade, i'd call it running into flames because both those guys would beat his a88 good...but krkland is nothing more than a set up. stop bullschitting and just admit it. it's gonna be entertaining for a certain type of fan because they both throw a lotta power punches...but that doesn't make it a quality fight.

i dont think i have ever met a mexican in my 24 years on this earth in australia champ but okkk

no i like canelo he constantly takes tough fights sure this aient a high risk NO reward fight like the lara fight was but its still a consistantly good fight (not great, and i believe someone said this fight wont even be a ppv so i have absolutely no complaints)

remember this is basically a late replacement of sorts seeing as canelo has the may date booked and the cotto fight fell through for him (which u cant deny would not be a good fight?)

im not sure what else u expect of the man especially at his age

so yes i do call it running towards the fire

as for anadrade an option sure he has a belt but lets see, he wins the wbo in a SD against martirosan and has 1 defense against brian rose

pretty ****ing untested if you ask me especially for a title holder. give the kid another half note worthy name and id love to see him get a shot, andrade looks promising he does but anyone can look good against the level of opp he has faced lets see if he carries it.. canelo is not floyd, he has plenty of time to fight and if he was to take on andrade now it would not do much for him apart from getting the WBO

What are you guys talking about? Kirkland is terrible and will be slaughtered. This is a cherry pick more than anything.

:dealThis! Maybe if Kirkland was active and didn't have a glass jaw then maybe I would agree but there is a reason why Canelo ducked Clottey and chose to fight Kirkland. Clottey would have made him look mediocre but with kirkland Canelo will look like an elite fighter which he is not.
