I was watching both on my computer all night. I thought the HBO broadcast was the better one.

I can't comment on how they looked on TV but as far as the visual stuff goes it often that is as much down to the venue as it is the production or anything else. The thomas and mack is not ass good a venue as the MGM. As for the commentating I thought paulie was really good but Roy was better. The MMA guy I don't mind but I also thought Lampley and Kellerman were on their game tonight and were probably the better team by far.

As for the cards themselves I thought they were about even. The Showtime card was always going to be hurt by the fact that the main event was never going to be competitive. The undercards were both pretty good and I basically spent most of my time flipping between each depending on the fight. I favoured the Rigondeaux fight over the Santa Cruz vs Morel fight. I've always like Macklin a lot and I'm Canadian so I like Alcine so I was about equally interested in that fight and the Maidana vs soto karass fight. The De Leon vs Gonzales fight i was more interested in then the Beltran Jr. vs Martinez fight. Both undercards were very strong though. I mean realistically there wasn`t a bad fight on either card all night.

As for the main events, Lopez was more competitive then I thought he was going to be (even though he got blasted out in 5 rounds). Chavez was less competitive then I thought he was going to be but then he went and almost one the fight in the last round. MArtinez boxed beautifully and the 12th round was probably the round of the year. So I give the edge again to the HBO card.

So here`s how I saw it:
    - commentating HBO, Production too close to call, Undercard even (but more skill on the HBO card), Main event HBO.
