As it seems clear Calz-Pavlik wont happen im not to dissapointed as Pavlik will now go after Abraham who is a genuine threat to the ghost but id still rather have Seen Pavlik-Calzaghe, Jones is finished he has been for 2 years now.
Even if everyone sees nothing left in RJJ, I still believe he could shock the world..starting with Calslappy !
i think he should take on pavlik. i beleive it could happen if the roy jones negotiations break down over money and location.
Jones UD, wouldn't be suprised if Joe won. Hope this is in Vegas, becausing I will get my tickets so fast
I feel that calzaghe is ducking pavlik for one main reason guy's.....he fears he's just to old to take on a youthfull power puncher like kelly. Two thing kelly has shown well in his last couple of fight-versatility to adapt to the other guy's game plan and amazing punch power...i feel he would find out calzaghe's exact game should they fight, its a shame because i really like calzaghe but i feel kelly would have his number lads....joe's getting a little older now and he has been a little in decline since the lacy fight.....kessler was a great fight but he didnt own the ring like many said he did, manfredo was a jke cant judge that, and b-hop he just didnt look like he had it in him anymore......just a thought...but i would favour a pavlik tko inside 10 rounds..
At this point, more clamour (15-13) for a RJJ bout. I would prefer a Pavlik or Dawson bout. No matter who he fights, he will be accused of ducking the other one.
Im a Jones fan and wish he would call it a career. Though I realize he is not what he used to be, he has a chance of pulling the upset... I think it is ridiculous to totally count Jones out, a boxer that great is capable of anything and If he could find a will and a way to fight for all 12 rounds i think he could win due to Calzaghe's style.... Roy is still just as fast in the hands as Cal if not faster and packs more of a punch. His legs concern me mostly, and the workrate of Calzaghe. If he goes through with the fight I just hope he realizes this should be the last fight of his life and leave it all in the ring, shock the world and go down in history with a greater legacy. If a post prime fighter can find a way to be great when he is way past what he used to be must improve on a legacy.... That said I think it is a small chance, because I said the same thing when he fought Tarver the 3rd time, my confidence is shaken and let go of the fact Roy will never be the same... But Tarver hits a lot harder than Joe, and would disrupt Roy's style more, and I feel Roy has improved since that fight, so you never do know.
