Just found this golden oldie on my hdd, and it looks like its on youtube too. Pierre Coetzer and Johnny Du Plooy had to settle who was the best and who had the best moustache. They managed to pack more action into 2 rounds than most HW fights have in 10: This content is protected Some heavy leather exchanged
Great fight and some comeback for Pierre who looked like he was on verge of losing. He was tough guy. I remember the Bowe fight.
Du Plooy could really hit. Unfortunately he was constitutionally unable to take big punches, it seems to me.
Didn't Pierre have a few tough fight s in a short time frame, Bowe, Foreman and Bruno? Poor guy must have being covered in lump's..
Oh yes so he did ,I'd forgotten about that. And didn't big George also smack him in the crown jewels a few times?
Not as I recall. George took a while to get going but once he found the range with his telegraph pole of a jab it was tough going for Coetzer. Pierre didn't really have much of a punch and he couldn't make an impression on Foreman.
I can recall that, Pierre managing to get past George s guard but having no effect really. But he gave it his Best shot.
He may have I have to watch it again. His fight with Bowe was a good one. If he had more power he could of caused Bowe some real issues. As it were he gave him a heck of fight. He wobbled Bowe in the first with a course hook and landed some nice right hands if I recall. Good fight.
