I dont want to see any excuses that Marquez is now old, past his prime and other BS excuses.

Seriously I know *****s would be the first to say "oh my BF, already soften up Marquez..."

I rather see this fight than Mosley or a useless Berto. So people would STFU with this debate.

But if someone's balls and urge comes up, thats the fight I would want Pac to take.

    Who agrees here?

who cares about the joyboys? they would discredit every fight pac since floyd won't be fighting pac again. pac should get the biggest paycheck around. he would be feeding his family first and not these joyboys or bitter marquez fans.

Huh? So people can stop saying Marquez beat Pacquiao in the past? That's why you want this? Sorry, bud. They'll always say Pacquiao lost one or both of those fights. NOTHING WILL CHANGE THAT.

Fighting JMM is a lose/lose situation. Those people who are currently accusing Pac for ducking him, will be the exact same people who will discredit the win by saying JMM is old, shot and fighting beyond his comfortable weight.

The only way this match-up can gain credibility, is if it’s made at 140. At least this way Pac can say to Floyd and his fans.... “I fought and beat JMM at a more appropriate weight, unlike you”. Making it at 147 gives off the impression they’re forcing JMM even further out of his natural fighting weight (despite it not making much difference anyway – Pac will weigh no more than 144).

I do not want to see this fight at welterweight. If they have to make a comprimise then it should be jr. welter, but this is boxing and boxing doesn't follow logic. Roach is a hypocrite for not even entertaining the thought of a catchweight but that doesn't surprise me one bit. It will be interesting to see if JMM is determined enough to fight Pacquiao by jumping 2 weight divisions and effectively handing most of the promotion to Arum.

I don't know if Mayweather was a good gauge to see if JMM is effective at welterweight as he was facing a stylistically bad match up that also so happend to be one of the most technically-gifted boxers of this generation. Chris John outboxed him as well but this doesn't mean he was too big for featherweight.

Mayweather did not bully him around or impose his size and he can take a good punch: Since he barely got hit (something like 18%???), and JMM is not a one-punch puncher it's hard to tell have effective each blow was. Mayweather did not soften him up as he was aiming to get a full 12-rounds of fight-time under his belt which is far more useful than smoking somebody in the first few rounds when coming off a layoff.

As for JMM he has just effectively cleaned out the lightweight division, including his last two solid wins against J Diaz and the super-aggressive Katsidis since the Mayweather loss, which proves to me he is still a dangerous threat even at 37.

I hope this fight does get made. Seemed like there was no one for Pac to fight (apart from the obvious) until JMM beat Katsidis and started calling him out

shane who?granpa shane that is already beaten by floyd.

marquez who?taht is also already beaten by floyd but by the pacman first

anyone other than floyd will be just about money now.

legacy wise..its all lose lose situation now.

why chase someone that is in hide while you can make more money while waiting for the guy with missing urge.

Marquez is old and past his prime. These are undeniable facts, not bull**** excuses.

I'd rather see Marquez than Mosley but Berto I think is the best option. He's undefeated, hungry and in his prime.

Why are Floyd fans avoiding this? Where are the Floyd fans who are pushing for a Marquez trlogy? Step up and say you support this fight because Marquez is not old and shot.

JMM looked good in his last fight. And at this point his body might be more accustomed to the higher weight. Pac doesn't fight anywhere above 148 anyway, so the size difference will be pretty minimal.
