Sweet! We get to see Firat Arslan vs. Michal Bilak as a bonus due to the early ending in the main event. :good

Pala's not a bad heavyweight prospect. He shouldn't be thrown into a world title shot anytime soon, but next-tier matches are probably the right speed for him now.

One of the British commentators suggests Audley Harrison as a good winnable name fight for him. I agree.

His two losses came when he was very green (in his first year and a half as a pro) and both to world class or borderline opponents: a decision loss to Dettweiler and a cuts stoppage loss to Boytsov. No great shame in those.

He should match up nice and slow, but still progressing upward - and keep developing his skills, and could become a decent contender.

Pala would beat the brakes off that Teper dude, that's for sure. :yep I don't care how much Teper improves.

Wow, he towers over this Michal Bilak guy. Arslan has always been a medium-sized CW, but Bilak is a small one.

    Round 1

Bilak gets busy straight away with a jab, trying to hold Arslan off while running backward. Arslan comes forward with a high guard trying to lean on Bilak. Desperate punches come flying from Bilak, including slapping right hands and left hooks backing up. Arslan is absorbing everything on his turtle shell, and pokes through with a couple of long shots when Bilak calms down. Bilak's tactic is to just keep running and punching simultaneously. Bilak with a nice right hand to the body after a big step back. Arslan gets inside and throws a 3-4 punch combo but Bilak is able to block most of it and keep moving before getting caught on the ropes.

    10-9 Bilak

    Yikes.

    Round 2

Arslan comes forward quickly and lets Bilak's punches deflect off his forearms. Arslan starts jabbing out of his guard. Good body punches and a high hook by Arslan. Stepping up the pace. Bilak tries to flurry him off and leans against him. Good left hook to the body followed by a clubbing overhand right by Arslan. Firat looks much stronger. Bilak goes down to the seat of his trunks from a left hook but it's ruled a slip. Arslan just moves forward like a machine and pounds him with very hard punches, all placed well. Bilak is running and letting his hands fly in between guarding. Arslan is just throwing HARD hooks under the guard as he backs Bilak up, and blocking all the weak counters coming at him. Even the shots Bilak is blocking are splitting his gloves and smashing into his face bluntedly. Arslan forces through a NICE uppercut to the chin.

Big Arslan round, there. Kicked some arse. Should have been 10-8, but for an incompetent or inattentive ref. If he keeps that up this will end well within the 8.

    19-19

that vaseline pot may have been used in Ali vs Frazier

and my commentator now doesn't know the difference between left and right.
Everytime Aslan lands a left uppercut it's the right according to him.

    Aslan wins by stoppage

    Round 3

Bilak is immediately cornered and starts trying to hook his way free. Arslan is just picking him off with very hard and well timed shots, favoring uppercuts inside and wide hooks outside. Bilak getting creamed with power punches, despite partially blocking a lot of them in his shell. Bilak's face is bloody. HARD triple hook by Arslan, to the left arm & chest. Arslan pokes a lead right hand into the bridge of Bilak's nose and it's a spattered bloody mess. Bilak is running around the ring and Arslan is cutting it off, slamming around & through Bilak's guard with hellish left hooks. This is an absolute beating. Big left hooks to the body, and then the left hand turns in for an upper-hook to the chin. The referee is squeamish and interrupts a brutal Arslan combo to save Bilak.

Bilak smiles and nods in gratitude. :yep

A brief highlight of the Aydin KO was shown, looked nice. Hopefully it turns up on Youtube.

Still can't believe that one came and went so fast. There were endless commercials in the lead-up, so it seemed safe to take a quick **** (assuming there would be anthems/introductions etc.) By the time I returned they were back to commercials as the Aydin fight had started and ended already. :patsch

I thought your coverage didn't ...well "cover it" so to speak, but you just missed it.
It was a round1 tko for Aydin, and his opponent was gushing blood out of a cut above his right eye. Looked like a good matchup to start with, but it just wasn't.
