Does anyone use these in their training regime? I've recently realised I can manage 2-3 reps with a central grip, is it something I should work on or just stick to regulars?

Stick to the regulars, unless you want to be able to do the "circus" type exercises. Nothing wrong with that.:D

You just realised one day that you could do 2-3 one arm chin-ups without training for them? :huh

I'd love to be able to do one armed pull ups, I consider myself pretty good at regular pull ups/chin ups but I feel that one armed may be beyond me. I can struggle to do one with each arm but my form isn't good. I actually sprained my elbow trying an isometric hold in a certain position in an attempt to train for one armed
Anyone have an idea with progressive exercises for this? I weigh 75kg so I fear I may be getting towards the larger side for this sort of thing, I've only really seen gymnasts and Vasyl Lomachenko do these.
Yes I want to be a circus freak VonLPC :D

 well I do pull ups regularly and I sometimes try them. I'm sure most people who can do 8+ decent form chin ups can do at least one onehanded chinup without training

Today I was at the gym and thought I'd give them a go and managed 3 with 1 arm and 2 with the other. My form was pretty bad though, so I was curious if working on them to improve form and working up to reps of 3-5 is worth while.

It's one of those things that's not worth pursuing in the context of boxing, but is damn cool if you can do it.

    This.

It looks cool if you can do them but you'd get more out of weighted pull/chin-ups.

Yeah the one handed pull ups are relatively easy but the one armed pull ups are no joke! I've just made a belated new years resolution to be able to do them by the end of the year :good

I'm curious to as why you'd say that you'd get more out of weighted pull ups? Theoretically if you could do one armed pull ups you should be able to pull up twice your bodyweight. Weighted pull ups would definitely be safer for your elbows though.

Yeah, I was referring to the wrong type of 1-handed chin ups!
