btw great idea for a thread - was thinking of this the other day and had a number of good (imo) examples of this. all i can think of now is Oscar if he had a right hand. he would have almost gone unbeaten until he fought hopkins

I don't have anything against Nathan at all, aside from those **** bandanas and that really annoying Bruce Grobbelaar impersonation he does, but Vince is just a twat. And a seriously **** trainer/cornerman.

I used to lay into Enzo Calzaghe a bit but at least he's got half a clue in most departments. Vince has none.

Your right though, I would have though the moment in (?) Murat fight that Dean Powell basically told vince to shut up and gave clev pretty much the opposite advice he was getting would be the moment that they would move him aside. obviously not, and the lad is suffering for it

 

This is an interesting thread. The most obvious example (probably already been said) for me is Hearns with a chin. Better durability and I think Tommy would have been for all intents and purposes untouchable.

 

If it wasn't for Dean Powell he'd have lost that fight, in the end he just battered Murat into submission but it looked shaky for quite a while.

I had him losing to Bellew, for large parts of that fight he looked completely lost, and watching it back he wasn't getting any help in the corner.... it was only when Bomber started fading that Clev started winning rounds.

He's just not improving at all, hasn't since he beat Brancalion. He gets hit with punches that he shouldn't and doesn't make best use of his ability.
