    i agree about joe
i am hoping haye turns out to be more than hype
i think carl froch will be doing an amir khan the first time he steps in a ring with a real fighter... what is the guy, 30, and the best guy he's fought is an ancient robin reid? talk about being protected

how can you be a pro as long as froch and not have fought ANYONE
i absolutely guarantee that would not happen to an american prospect... we will know the true mettle of guys like james kirkland, andre dirrell, andre berto, etc very soon and those guys are teenagers compared to froch

You can't spell and your basic facts are wrong. If you go and check how many of Calzaghe's professional fights have been outside Wales, you'll find it's somewhere in the region of 50%.

    Exactly :good

He will be waiting a long time to see Calzaghe get KTFO believe me.
In fact, I think I`ll send him a PM shortly after the Calzaghe/RJJ fight - just for fun.

Calzaghe has fought outside (WHALES) :patsch , plenty of times , England . Scotland , Denmark , Germany , U.S.A . as a Pro ,and plenty more as an Amature , Thats about 5 more country's than RJJ has fought in and 4 more than Bernard Hopkins has ( Dropped twice in Ecudor if i remember correctly ) . Khan was a Ko waiting to happen sure enough , but you will be forever waiting for a tried and tested fighter like Calzaghe to get KTFO . Now thats the TRUTH , TRUTH . :good

This is utter tosh mate, Joe won the title from Chris Eubank who EVEN at his old age when he fought Joe was 100% better than that **** Jeff lacy that was a "step up", hell even friggin byron mitchell and ricky woodall were better than that cream puff over hyped crap.

Given that you begrudgingly give Calzaghe some credit I wont address Joe in this reply.

Haye however is different. His chin is questionable and yes he's cocky. But the difference is that Haye has already proved he is good boxer. He unfiied CW and was a solid linear champion in that division. He's not yet proved himself at HW but he looks like fighter that belongs in that division. If he gets caught he could get KO'd but in the HW division that pretty much goes for every fighter. I like Haye and hopes he shakes up a very poor (and very boring) HW division.

Agree with you on Witter but I must confess that I dont like Froch, and I'm a little surprised that you do given that you dont like cocky fighters!

    I agree about Haye.

But putting Calzaghe in the same group just makes you look like a clueless ass.

    Hi alias. :hi:

You could say the same about Hopkins. He waited until Joe was old and beatable, except he STILL was afraid to leave his home country, and STILL lost.

And if you want to hide behind the excuse that Hops was a MW, then who was this "real" SMW champion that Calzaghe avoided? :think

Are we talking about Joe Calzaghe or Captain Ahab?

He must have smelt ****ing awful after coming out of there after 10 years.

And Moby Dick made him fight while he was in there????

    What A **** Of A Whale.:D

    I hate UFC.

I agree Hop's competition was marginally better than Calzaghe's (although it was padded with his fair share of taxi drivers and Jr. Middles) but then..
    1) Calzaghe never was hyped until the last couple of years.
    2) Calzaghe was a SMW, and the talent pool was mostly filled with Euros.
    3) Just because you haven't seen much of a European fighter, doesn't mean he's trash. It just means you don't know much about him.

Oh, I see. You're just trying to stir up an argument based on nationalism.

    How childish.

I had my suspicions that you were a 12 year old. They have now been confirmed.

    Keep at it junior. :good

I am British I knew in a matter of time this would happen, I thought Earl may be the man but katsidis beat him up too bad and he was too small, Prescott taller at least equal power and a decent chin did the job. Calzaghe is overhyped and overrated by everyone here and I for one wish he would stop protecting his unbeaten record and fight the best guys out there. The only decent challenge in his career was Kessler and he can be a bit one dimensional. Jones is well past it but I would like to see him win. Hatton is overhyped aswell I mean he was wobbled and in big trouble against a shot Juan Lazcano and Froch has fought nobody. Haye has at least beaten some top level competition but taking on Rahman at heavyweight is a disgrace, the guy is shot as hell and soooo slow this is an easy KO win for Haye. Their are faults in all our fighters but because we have very few they are all overly hyped up to a ridiculous degree. I mean for idiots to actually believe Hatton could beat Mayweather is beyond stupid.
